“Terrific Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2013 via mobile

One of the best hotel experiences we've had in a long time. Stayed on the Hacienda side. We had a King Suite and it was very comfortable with a spacious bathroom and really nice shower. There was a shower hose...not just a shower head. Great coffee in the morning, not the usual hotel coffee. Plus a good breakfast buffet. Best service is shuttle service to wherever you want to go within about a mile radius. Really useful at night because parking is difficult in the downtown/Old Town areas. Tom, one of the shuttle drivers, had a lot of great suggestions for touring and dining and was a just a nice friendly person. Also, we had a butler....didn't know what to do with him, but it was fun to say we had one. Cleaning staff did a terrific job...everything very clean. Everyone in the hotel was super friendly and helpful. In the Railroad District and a short walk to Old Town.

After exploring several different options for our stay in Santa Fe, I decided to take chance on this hotel, and how happy I was that I did. The property is so lovely and our room at the Hacienda was superb. It was spacious, quiet, and best of all we had concierge service. All in all a delightful stay and I would definitely stay there again.

As frequent visitors to Santa Fe, we have experienced many of the hotels in the area. We recently stayed for the first time in the Hacienda part of the Hotel Santa Fe (we had stayed in the regular Hotel Santa Fe once before). The most important thing to note is that even though they are on the same property and are connected, the Hacienda part is most definitely different than the Hotel Santa Fe and you must reserve the one you want. The Hacienda rooms are much larger, more up-to-date and better-appointed and come with free breakfast (and a higher price). While I would hesitate to return to the regular hotel, I would definitely recommend the Hacienda. Although the property is further from the historic Plaza than some hotels, we found it to be an easy and pleasant walk. A free shuttle is available for those for whom walking is not ideal. On the plus side, the hotel is right across from the Railyard District and the excellent farmers' market.

Our room was very spacious, the furnishings were a cut above those in a standard hotel, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Although some of the uniqueness of Santa Fe architecture was missing here (no vigas and beams in the ceiling, for example, though there was a fireplace), it succeeds in maintaining a balance between modern hotel room and restrained Santa Fe style. The bathroom was also spacious, even if the vanity was crowded with toiletries and coffee, and the showerhead was glorious. There are a few amenities at this property, including a hot tub and fitness center, though we used neither. Free breakfast is a nice perk that we also didn't take advantage of.

As others have mentioned, there is a butler service for the Hacienda guests. This certainly makes you feel as if service is a top priority here, though we didn't see or hear from the butler once he brought our bags to the room. This is not a complaint--we just realized that we have no idea what to do with a butler and therefore did not use the service. If you are a needy guest or have a better vision of how to use a butler, you will most likely be pleased.

It now seems to have become the norm for Santa Fe hotels to charge some sort of nuisance fee, under the guise of a parking or resort fee. This hotel has unfortunately succumbed as well, so expect an $18 per day fee and make sure you get your "free" bottled water from the front desk often during your stay.

The Hotel Santa Fe is a fine hotel in a great location, only minutes away from the Plaza. You can walk or take a shuttle bus over at certain points throughout the day.

Points for the hotel include a nice staff, a wonderful lobby with interesting art and a surprisingly great restaurant.

I used HotWire and got a great rate, my room was very nice, if a bit small for what I would've been used too. Had I paid a normal rate I think the room would have been a little disappointing but for the HotWire rate it was well worth it. Also, they need better pillows.

Overall though, a nice hotel worth your consideration.

We spent a long weekend at the Haceinda for my birthday weekend. Everything from the butler service, the special birthday treats, the breakfast buffet, the cocktail hour, the drivers, to the beautiful room and confortable bed was fantastic. The hotel was convenient to walk to the plaza and Canyon Road (although the sidewalks in Santa Fe aren't great). We walked most places during the day and used the drivers at night. A car always showed up within just a few minutes following a call. We had lunch at the Hotel restaurant one day and it was very good. I can't wait to return.

The Hacienda Hotel & Spa was the perfect hotel for myself and five other girlfriends. We had a fabulous meal in the hotel's restaurant and the shuttle service made any excursion around town so simple.
Several of my friends enjoyed a day at the spa while the rest of us took a class from The Santa Fe Cooking School.
If I had any criticism, it would be that the rooms were dimly lit and the pillows were too hard.
All in all, when you can get six women to agree that something was excellent you've risen to a great standard. Thank you Hacienda Hotel & Spa!

This was by far one of the nicest hotel experiences I've ever had. We were celebrating our anniversary and splurged for a suite in the hacienda building. We loved the Kiva fireplace suite. It was nicely decorated, the bed and the couch were extremely comfortable, and the end location was quiet. The native artwork is stunning and made getting ice feel like a trip down the hall of a museum. The staff at every level was accommodating and extremely pleasant - we loved the shuttle even though the hotel is located close enough to the plaza to walk. We'll be back
