A great museum with helpful staff. This is a great history museum with good exhibits. This is a new museum and the exhibits are interesting and well-done. All phases of New Mexico history are covered with a interesting flair.

“An excellent exhibit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

We really enjoyed the exhibit featuring the role of Cowboys in the American West. The multi-media experience was well curated and was appropriate for people of all ages, and a must for those who aren't familiar with the American West.

“Good museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

Interesting info and great films about the history. Interesting info on Oppenheimer and Los Almos. The palace part was quite hot but the 2nd part of the museum behind is air conditioned and an enjoyable temperature if you want to really visit. One of the guards taught me how to lasso up near the cowboys display...not his job I might add...quite fun

“New Mexico History Museum Palace of the Governors”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

This is a real gem for Santa Fe, a great museum for the history of the West. Cowboys Real and Imagined is a great history of everything to do with and about Cowboys. Their horses, music, food and entertainment. This is a must see for all ages. Do rope the wooden cow in the loby - do not be shy... we all did it and had a great time trying our luck!
The history of New Mexico is in the main building and it is fascinating with the Spanish the Native Americans of the Pueblos and the new settlers. This is a must see while in Santa Fe, NM.

“Great way to learn about this historical state”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

Luckily caught a free admission day. Check for that possibility. Displays were just enough information. Layout a bit confusing, but that always seems to happen.
