“Hidden gem in Santa Fe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2013

This is a gem of Santa Fe, tucked away at the end of Upper Canyon Road. The drive to the center is beautiful on its own. The Audubon center is a wonderful place to enjoy the flora and fauna of the region with easy pathways and places to sit and inhale the breathtaking views.

“Nice Bird Walk”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

They conduct a bird walk ever Saturday morning at 8:00. W had about 8 people for this mornings walk. The walk starts around the buildings and then goes down a trail into a canyon. Whole walk is about 2 miles and takes about 2 - 2 1/2 hours, depending on stops. We saw a fair number of species. Enjoyable morning.

“Parking lots not open per signage for early birders”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2013

We visited twice: first, mid morning on a Friday. Walked 2 trails and enjoyed spotting several western birds new to us. Clean bathrooms back at main building. Parked that day in front of main building. Returned second morning early - gates are to open at 7am but unfortunately they were locked - there is no side street parking available/permitted in this narrow roadway area - ugh. We arrived around 7:20am on a Saturday and gates were locked.

“Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

We had a good, short hike here but saw very few birds. I guess they weren't in the mood to be out. The bird feeders close to the visitor's center had more birds than were on the hike.

“Good for families with kids”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

This was a pretty little find: nice trails and information. Right outside the gate is access to the Santa Fe Preserve, a Nature Conservancy spot for light hiking, walks, so you can do both places easily. Good for an easy walk, bird watching, time with kids.
