The Basilica location makes it easy to visit, although we had to go the 2nd day because we hadn't counted on it closing so early. (7am & 5:15pm services, doors are open 9-4:30). The relics on display are amazing, and the fact that they are not in a vault or another part of the church where one would have to pay an extra fee is really something unique. La Conquistadora is the small statue in the side chapel (if you're looking at the alter, to the left in the same building, it's also clearly marked with signs). La Conquistadora is the oldest representation of the Virgin Mary in the United States, arrived in Santa Fe 1625 from Spain by Franciscan missionaries. The vicinity to the Loretta staircase is also good for a visit by Catholics & non Catholics alike.
