“Perfect Santa Fe Retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2008

We had a fabulous time in Santa Fe. We have been to Santa Fe several times and have stayed in a few other places. Our search is finally over. Shaan and Colleen are perfect hosts. Our room (Chili Pickler) took care of all little details. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on. The breakfast was outstanding and we met some really great fellow travelers. If you are looking for a great stay that is easy walking distance to the plaza look no further than Casa de la Cuma!! We will be back.

This B&B was a great find. The hosts are extremely hospitable and make themselves available to you, but leave you room to do your own thing, creating a very comfortable environment. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic with killer coffee. It really made our day start out great. They are walking distance to the plaza, which is really nice and allows you to wander around town without the stress of finding a parking spot, feeding meters, etc. The house itself is very quaint with lots of character and extremely comfortable. Our room was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. I would not hesitate to stay again at all!

Casa de la Cuma B&B has atmosphere, friendliness, clean rooms, excellent hot breakfasts. We had 7 breakfasts; each
morning there was a different entree with juice, fruit, coffee
or tea. In the small sitting room there was an unlimited supply of bottled water and yoghurt.
The B&B is within walking distance of the Historic Plaza, downtown Santa Fe.
The hosts Colleen & Shaan could not have been more obliging and friendly.
We can wholeheartedly recommend Casa de La Cuma to even the most discriminating travellers.

My daughter and I stayed at the Casa De La Cuma for a week. We couldn't of been happier.
The hospitality was outstanding. Our room was very comfortable and ideal for us.
We were treated like family and breakfast was always special and delicious.
We would highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast!!!!!!

Thank you Coleen and Shaan.

"PERFECT PARADISE IN THE CITY" Yes, Casa Cuma is a travellers respite of "Home Away From Home" It is a twinkling star in the midst of suburbia. Set high on a hill overlooking the starlit city, it is peaceful and relaxing. The outdoor patio where a delicious home cooked "gourmet" breakfast is prepared and served by Colleen abd Shane daily is one not to be missed. I loved the cheese stuffed french toast with warm apricot sauce. The best part about this B@ B is the whole ambiance of the place; the relaxing outdoor patio with high cedar trees, bird feeders, lovely gardens and hot tub, to the lovely theme rooms all different and unique, to the warm hospitality of the owners gracious attitude towards each guest, as if they were family. We had the Opera Suite, a self contained suite attached to the side of their house. It had 2 rooms, a living room with a kitchenette with comfy couch and big table to prepare the meals, but the decor was whimsical, musical, bright and uplifting. The bedroom was large, with a comfy bed, a seperate bathroom with shower and A/C for those hot nights. We absolutely loved our 6 night stay not to mention the bedtime snacks and cookies that Colleen puts out for the guests each night. It is close to walking distance to all the interesting places to explore in town. It was also a very quiet place to stay in a nice residential area. We will definately stay there when we go back again. We loved meeting new guests each day and sharing in one anothers stories while sampling Colleens creative gourmet dishes in a relaxing beautiful atmosphere. We LOVE everything about Casa Cuma and Santa Fe and will be back soon. Shane is also very well versed in giving guests lots of information on things to do. It definately sets itself apart from the big impersonable hotels in town. You definately have to go there to experience this charming, unique and warm hearted B@B in the land of Enchantment. See you next year! Christine and Howard.

We stayed 4 nights at Casa de la Cuma. The breakfast nook issue previously reported is no longer an issue - breakfasts were communal and in a lovely setting outdoors. If anything, the breakfasts are a bit too rich. Shaan and Colleen go the extra 5 or 6 miles for their guests - they're very attentive about the altitude and its effect on lowlanders, they gave extra help when guests found themselves in a pinch, they're knowledgeable about hikes in the area, etc. Not only that, they're well networked into the classical music scene in the area and into the B&B community in Santa Fe and Taos. For example, they were full the first night that we wanted and recommended a very nice alternative that worked out very well for us.
