I visited the spectacular Santa Fe not once but TWICE in 2005—the first time for the famed Writer's Conference and the second time for business. In the latter instance, I stayed at this Courtyard due to the excellent corporate rate my client had.
The front desk put me in a quiet location, a nice touch considering that a national conference (with many naturally exuberant attendees) was taking place at this facility at the same time. The room was nearly immaculate, with plenty of space to work, eat, and sleep.
Parking was quite safe at night. Just be sure to have a window scraper handy when staying from October to April/May, as the quite chilly nights leave a frost so thick that even the best windshield wiper can barely touch it in the morning.
My only gripe is the poor excuse for a restaurant that's on site. One breakfast there was all it took for me to go to Whole Foods Market on Cerrillos just north of St. Francis (WF opens at 7 a.m. with one of the best morning buffets anywhere) and to IHOP on the other mornings of my trip. Just the idea of all the wonderful places to eat in and around Santa Fe should motivate even the weariest traveler to bypass the Courtyard's compost pile that masquerades as an eatery!
