We spent two nights at the Chapelle St. Casitas' 225 McKenzie property (two couples and one cat). All we were expecting was a (hopefully!) clean place to crash, as the rental fee was only $100/night. We were delighted with the casita and will definitely stay there again.
The reservation process was smooth, and the person with whom I spoke helped me to select the property that best met our needs.
The location is fantastic - just a couple of blocks from the Plaza. You can park your car and walk nearly anywhere you need to go in Santa Fe.
The house itself is older, but was absolutely spotless. The beds were comfortable, and the living areas well outfitted with appropriate furniture. There was cable/satellite TV, but we did not use it. The enclosed outdoor courtyard was a real bonus, as we had pleasant weather and were able to sit outdoors. We did not cook, so I cannot assess the adequacy of the kitchen outfitting. The house is located on a quiet street; the only annoying outside sound we heard was the city garbage truck one morning.
The only problem at all that we had was a leaking toilet that caused water to run periodically to refill the tank (noisy enough to wake you up). We reported this upon departure, and I'm sure it's been fixed (water is precious in Santa Fe).
We have stayed in many lodgings in Santa Fe over the years from the very upscale to funky B&B's. This is our new favorite based on the incredible value you get for your money (not to mention the location). Our friends liked it so much they decided to stay a third night (sadly, we had to depart).
