The inn is like an oasis in the middle of crowded Santa Fe. We have stayed there twice, both times we have had Sophie, our newfie, along. The rooms are very cozy, breakfast was great, and it's a short walk to the square. I highly recommend it.

My sister and I spent three nights at this beautiful property. We had booked the Ansel Adams room but when we got there, Dan upgraded us to the O'Keeffe room as we were staying three nights during the week and he thought we would enjoy having more space. That was particularly fitting as we had just spent four days at Ghost Ranch learning about Georgia O'Keeffe and her art! The food was wonderful and the other guests were very nice. We would highly recommend this property for anyone visiting Santa Fe and wanting a special and historic Inn for a unique experience.

So enjoyed our stay! Hospitality excellent, breakfast out of this world and what a lovely setting. The historic Santa Fe architecture was a real treat. The stroll to the historic square was just the right distance to feel that one had gained a bit of exercise. It was nice being close but not in the middle of all the tourist hustle & bustle. We especially enjoyed the afternoon wine tasting and conversation with fellow travelers and our kind proprietors.

The Inn is just perfect, beautiful, clean, friendly, and romantic! Dan and Alex are the best! We stayed in the Witter Bynner room and it was huge, with a king-sized bed, fireplace, front porch, and wonderful bath. The breakfasts were delicious and big so we didn't eat again till dinner! Wine hour was a treat! We got to meet some lovely people from all over the world. Oh, and Alex even made Snickerdoodle cookies for us because we told him that we liked them best! This historical inn is in a great location to walk downtown and to Canyon Rd. We will be back!

Room Tip: I believe all the rooms are great though we loved the Witter Bynner room.

My husband and I recently celebrated our anniversary in Santa Fe and really enjoyed our accommodations at the inn. The owners, Dan and David, were extremely knowledgable about the area and gave us great suggestions for things to do. They also prepared a fabulous breakfast every morning. We stayed in the Witter Bynner room which was quite spacious and had a lovely porch overlooking the grounds. The private bath is outside the room, but it's just steps outside the door on a private staircase. The inn is a good 15-20 minute walk into the historic downtown, but we preferred being away from the more crowded touristy area of town. Overall, a really fantastic place to stay.

I found the Inn of the Turquoise Bear, and was just enamoured with the history of the place. This B&B is the former home of Brooklyn-born Witter Bynner, a translator and poet, who moved to Santa Fe in the 1920's. Several of his friends stayed overnight while visiting, since there wasn't much of a town then. Friends like Georgia O'Keeffe, Ansel Adams, D.H. Lawrence, Robert Frost, Martha Graham, Rita Hayworth, Olivia DeHavilland...you get the idea. There is so much history here in this house you can almost feel it. Each room is named after a guest/friend of Mr. Bynner (he died in 1968), and the owner Dan Clark sees to it your stay is perfect. He apologized for sticky locks, etc., having bought the inn a year ago, but I think that comes with an older home built in the 1920's. Mr. Bynner built many additions on to his adobe house over the years, and the architecture is original. Lovely tiled showers, floors, the fireplaces... and breakfast is so good you want to go back upstairs to take a nap. Meandering grounds, with fountains and colorful native plants; the lilacs were heavenly when I was there. We stayed upstairs in the D.H. Lawrence room, which had its own private entrance. Lots of books throughout the home and some of the furniture seems original. A quiet retreat, and within walking distance to Santa Fe Plaza. If you are a lover of literature or history you will thrill to stay here.

Room Tip: There are 9 rooms; we stayed in the D.H. Lawrence room which had its own private entrance.

We absolutely loved this B&B! It was fantastic. I had trouble finding a room that would fit us since we have 4 people. I left a voice mail for the owner, Dan, and he called me back within the hour with the perfect room.

The room was gorgeous, decorated beautifully and with tons of character. The furnishings were super comfortable and it even had a fireplace in the room!

The main area was really neat and I spent a few hours down there while my family took naps. I was very comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic! Very inventive and yummy. Dan was happy to make alternative meals for anyone with special requests.

The grounds are gorgeous. My family was really surprised when they saw how beautiful it was. And the inn is very close to downtown Santa Fe. It was a quick 10 minute walk through a quiet neighborhood.

Dan and David (the other owner) were really fun to spend some time getting to know. I enjoyed talking with them for some time.

I definitely hope we can go back soon. Either just my husband and I or with my girls.
