“Canyon Road a winter wonderland”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

We happened to be in Santa Fe on the weekend that it snowed and as we drove around looking at the beauty of the snow covered buildings we reached Canyon Road,it was early in the day so not much was going on,a few people were out walking their dogs or running. We on the other hand chose to stay in our warm car and look at places we could go to when and if the snow would melt.Driving around Canyon Road is just as fascinating as walking,we saw some of the most beautiful houses in that small area, all made from adobe, all very distinctive, its no wonder,no one wants to leave. There are so many galleries that you can walk through, the road winds through alleys and connecting streets, there are a couple of Restaurants and cafes that open later in the day, as we made our way to Alameda St. we came upon a park that was empty, we couldn't resist the untouched snow so we we stopped to take a picture with our two yorkies.Canyon Road is great any time of the year but the snow made it magical...

“Arts and Crafts Paradise on Canyon Road”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

Whether you love contemporary art, sculpture, native handicrafts or any other artistic form, Canyon Road will meet and exceed your expectations. The staff were all knowledgable and friendly. Prices are not out of line but don't expect too many bargains. We wished we had LOTS more time!

“Stunning sculpture outside, dozens of galleries to browse”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

Canyon road is only a few blocks long on a steep hill, but has dozens of galleries with artwork outside and in. On a beautiful day, the sculpture gardens are worth a walk-through, or just pop in and out of galleries on bad weather days. Prices are in line with other local galleries and offerings range from massive outdoor sculptures to jewelry, paintings and novelty items. There are a few spots to grab a bite or beverage; we chose El Greco and were not disappointed. Park at the base of the road so when you are exhausted after hours of browsing and walking, your walk back to the car will be downhill!

“Heart and soul of Santa Fe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2013

Has earned its claim to fame as a lovely (and touristy) center for art, music, and excellent restaurants. Plan to walk as it is not car-friendly. Make sure you're there the night before Christmas, when the entire street is lined with farolito lanterns, bonfires, strolling musicians, and carolers. No place compares.
