This hotel is in the center of old Santa Fe, so the location couldn't be better. The service from the desk staff was excellent. The only down was that, when we first checked in, the queen room we had reserved was very small. We had quite a bit of luggage, and there wasn't really room for our stuff and not even a chair in the room. They were, fortunately, able to upgrade us to a room on the ground floor with two doubles, which was much larger and had more storage and space to move around (at a higher price.) I was concerned that, being so close to the lobby, it might be noisy. Not so! With the door closed, we heard not a peep from either side, above, or the hallway, probably because of the older thicker walls and the high ceilings. Even the heat/air was quiet. Make sure you ask about the size of the room when making reservations. Also watch for promotions; our third night was free.
The hotel itself has a monastery theme with an attractive lobby. We would have liked a puffy chair and a full-length mirror in the room, but perhaps that wasn't in keeping with the cloister vibe.
The restaurant - Tabla de los Santos - was excellent. See our separate review, and the atmosphere in the bar on Friday and Saturday evening was lively but respectable. Parking is either just next to the hotel or in the lot across the street: self parking at a reasonable $11 per day. A concierge is available. NO vending machines or ATM, but stop at the "Five and Dime" about two blocks away for both. The steamer in the room didn't work well, but they brought us an iron and ironing board on request.
Overall, a good, clean, friendly place where we would stay again.
