“Expensive for what you get”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2012

The hotel has a good location in the center of Santa Fe, so is convenient to galleries and such. But it's very expensive for what you get.

Rooms are small and amenities are mostly non existent. No in-room coffee. And there weren't even plastic glasses to get a drink of water. No room service before 8 am. Restaurant doesn't open until 7:30. Cleanliness and maintenance of room and common areas was only so-so. Hotel bar is very nice and the bar tender knows his craft. Hotel staff are courteous.

Notihng 'wowed' us into coming back.

My mother arrived at the Hotel St. Francis late after driving all day on a road trip from Los Angeles. The receptionist was very welcoming and helped us find a place to eat that was open late. The room was extremely cozy, the decor is charming and has the perfect Santa Fe feel, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. My only complaint is that the room was a tad small and the parking was a bit expensive. Overall this hotel stands out for its charm and superb customer service.

My wife and I spent one night on our way home from Taos at Hotel St. Francis in Santa Fe. I had stayed there for 10 days 19 years previously and remembered it as very nice. Since my first stay, they've remodeled and upgraded everything. Even the smallish rooms (remember it's a historic hotel) are well thought out and very comfortable. The location is in the best part of downtown as you can walk to everything. I'd absolutely stay they again and again.

Room Tip: Might want to ask for a lower floor if it's blazing hot outside. We had no problem with AC and s...

This is not your chain hotel for sure... I had a spacious, bright corner room with 5 french windows (draped in soft gray linen) that opened dramatically into the room. The bed might just be the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. I know that's a big statement, but the Frette linens did a lot to make it luscious. There were about 8 pillows on the bed! The hotel is perfectly located in the centre of Santa Fe. The restaurant is excellent, but what was most fun is sitting on the hotel veranda and ordering drinks and $7 hors d'oeurves during happy hour! Yes. I would stay there again and ask for Ren at the front desk, who was most gracious.

Our stay was fantastic. Beautifully and tastefully renovated hotel. Polite and intelligent staff. Bar and restaurant were also excellent. The location is excellent with access to everything in Old Town Santa Fe.

My sister's and I stayed here in April. Very friendly staff, clean and comfortable. But being able to walk to so many places of interest, wonderful! Would definitely stay here again. We also really liked the margaritas that were made by John, the evening bartender. Yummy

Room Tip: If you don't like some street noise in the evening, don't stay on the street side, which is...

I love these types of old hotels. They bring history with them. This hotel is the oldest in Santa Fe. The lobby is beautiful and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed our time here and hope to be back next year.

Room Tip: 215 was a great room
