“lovely but pricey”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2014

Just about everything was perfect. But not 100%. Furnishings, art is wonderful. Some things need updating redo. I even bought their pinion soap etc to take home. Room was Santa Fe perfect designed. Loved the step up to big bed. Enjoyed balcony. Had to wait too long for valet car on several occasion. Found a big ding on car when I got home. Who knows if in fact it happened there but ???. Loved the bar atmoshere. Restaurant very good but better elsewehere for less $ in Santa Fe. Quiet , great bed. Perfect location. its a splurge place. But soul therapy.

Room Tip: get a room w/ balcony. worth it.

I stayed here with my family for a long weekend over MLK weekend. The Rosewood brand can always be relied upon to choose great cities and locations within cities to open its properties. I have been to Santa Fe a few times now and I think this is probably the most sophisticated property within the heart of the city (steps from the main square). The hotel itself is an attractive adobe style building (the norm for the area). I don't think its historic but it completely fits in and cultivates a great southwest feel throughout its public areas. We stayed in a suite so that our young children could be within easy reach. The suite was very large... Large living room with open plan but separate dining area, large bedroom and two bathrooms. The living room had a rather nice traditional fireplace. All in all the suites are well worth it.

We dined out most evenings but one night we decided to dine the hotel and utilize the room's dining area. We wanted to order from the hotel's main restaurant (which a number of our friends whom own homes in Santa Fe think is one of the very best in the city) rather than from the different room service menu. That was not a problem and they actually had a member of staff from the restaurant at the door of our room within 10 minutes to take our order. The meal was great. On another occasion we relaxed in one of the public areas and had a cocktail service. Again the cocktails were first rate.

Its not a huge hotel but then Santa Fe is not that kind of town. There is nowhere better to retreat to and relax after a couple of hours exploring. Again its not a five star luxury hotel more like a first rate four star but that all fits nicely with the vibe of a trip to Santa Fe.

Irritants? Nothing major but in the hotel service guide in the rooms they had prices next to a very large number of items that can be found around the room. It was weird and made me think they must have had some people leaving with their decor in their suitcases! Just odd not offensive.

This is one of the most charming and perfectly run boutique hotels in the world. The service is incredible and the rooms are perfect. You immediately feel as though you are at home, and everything is tied to the culture and the history of Santa Fe.
Perfect.

I have stayed here every year for over 20 years ... It's the jewel of Santa Fe ... Intimate and elegant and the best location in Santa Fe ... Love everything about this hotel and the staff is the best !!! Megan Crocci is one of the managers and she is the best and makes each guest feel special !!!!
The beautiful lobby is so inviting and every day yummy cookies and refreshments are offered in the afternoon . The concierge staff is terrific too . A trip to Santa Fe would not be the same without a stay at this wonderful hotel !!!!! We are counting the days until we return !!!!!

Loved the Inn. The concierge service - Bob was amazing. The Inn provided the best service I have received in a long time. The only reason I did not rate as excellent was the hotel is slightly worn mainly bathrooms and agree on worn red carpet. I did see a review where the Inn was getting a face lift. Once that happens will be amazing! The restaurant was great. Overall would recommend to anyone!

stay somewhere alse, there's plenty of newer and better places near the main square,

This place offers strange smells, no hot water, old everything, Eddie Haskell type of service

The restaurant was one of the better ones in Santa Fe, not very impressed with Santa Fe food in general, it seems like mexican food from the 70s before things got better

This was our second stay at the Anasazi. I think the main reason we love it is the sense we have immediately walking in the front door that we are definitely in NEW MEXICO. The architecture, the carved wooden doors, the pueblo pots over the bar, the kiva fireplaces, the viga ceilings, the leather furniture, the rugs - all create that sense of place - and in a most tasteful way.

The rooms share that ambience, but I must agree with some of the other reviewers that they could use some updating given the price point of this hotel. During our November stay we and some other guests on the 3rd floor had problems getting really hot water in the bathrooms. I was aware of every toss and turn my husband made during the night in our king bed - probably time to replace the mattress.

That said, we would stay in this hotel again mostly because we love the ambience - and the location just a stone's throw from the Plaza. Plus the staff is excellent and manages to be both friendly, professional and competent at the same time. The restaurant is very good and shares that New Mexican ambience. And the bar makes the very best gold coin margaritas!
