“Ski trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2014

This is a great Hilton property about 15 minutes from downtown Santa Fe. We enjoyed the casino and daily happy hour (great specials). We did not eat at the restaurants.
If you're going to ski, the mountain is about a 40 minute drive. We enjoyed the mountain, especially with the foot of new snow. We really enjoyed Santa Fe and would come, but might try a hotel in town.

at the ski resort nearby. The rooms are comfy, clean, and I really liked the veranda off the room with table and chairs to sit and have coffee in the AM or a drink at night. the staff is very friendly and accommodating, the restaurants are adequate but the Friday night buffet was awful. The TV and remote take a little getting use to and can be bothersome. Easy check in/out. The lobby is beautiful. You have to pay for WiFi or go to the lobby to use you computer or tablets. Be warned if you lift the snacks on the tray (easy reach for kids) you pay for them. The Casino is not the most comfortable, cigarette smoke is terrible, seats are on top of one another, but they do offer free soda, water, coffee stations which is nice. The spa prices are outrageous (went down to Albuquerque to the Sandia Resort for spa treatment). There is a Spa Resort on the way up the mountain to the ski area. It is well priced (we stopped for brochures) and the parking lot was filled both times we passed it. A good place to stay if you are going to the day only (closes at 4:30) ski area which is about 20 miles away and has no hotel facilities.

Room Tip: If you use the Casino at all, get a players club card and USE it, you get free rooms and/or food wit...

very nice room, clean and quiet. Very helpful staff. Would stay here again and would recommend to friends and family. Did not have any problems from check in to check out. Very impressed with the hotel and looking forward to staying here again.

A beautiful hotel with VERY friendly staff! Was a 5-day get-away for myself and the folks to unwind and relax, along with plenty of wine, good food, and maybe a little gambling at the casino......I actually did pretty well! Every staff member we came into contact with -- even when just passing by in the lobby or the hall -- greeted us with a smile. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back. If we had a complaint, it would be only that folks tend to be VERY loud in the middle of the night after being down in the casino or club, and this was extremely obtrusive in the middle of a deep sleep.....aside from that, though, we couldn't have asked for more. Great hotel, wonderful food (Red Sage!!), and the breakfasts (side of bacon, please!) was top-notch! The Parrot Buffet was good -- it's a buffet, of course, so there must be allowances, but everything we had was fresh and tasty and, most importantly, the staff was friendly and the floors, tables, counters, etc. were CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN! Wonderful job to the Buffalo Thunder Team!

What a beautiful hotel! But the cigarette smoke was disgusting. You can smell it everywhere in the building. I did like the shower and although the décor was nice, there was a very scary picture in our room. Did not like that at all.

This is a very nice hotel. The amenities are great, it's very clean and the service was wonderful. Please be aware before your stay, however, that WIFI access is not free. It's $9.99 per device, per day. I also had no cell service in my room on AT&T. Those two elements combined made for quite a frustrating stay considering I was actually working FOR the attached casino and had trouble accessing my work information. Other that these issues, it was a very nice stay.
