“Loved our stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2014

We had a three night stay. Our room was very nice. The front desk people couldn't have been more friendly and they were so helpful with any questions we had about getting anywhere we wanted to go. It is just a five minute walk from the Plaza. They serve a wonderful breakfast that comes with the price. They also have a 4:00 - 5:00 wine, cheese, crackers and fruit in the main lobby.

We booked the Inn on the Alameda for a short vacation to Santa Fe. We are from the East Coast and not familiar with Santa Fe. On the basis of reviews we had read beforehand, we expected a nice place. We were very pleasantly surprised by the exceptional quality of the place. Service was everywhere friendly. The layout, with multiple buildings and connecting outdoor garden passageways was reminiscent of hotels in Spain instead of a typical US hotel. The rooms and bath were exceptionally well-appointed and comfortable. The afternoon wine and cheese, while not uncommon for a hotel of this type, was welcome and quite enjoyable. The on-site lite-fare restaurant, which we tried the first night, was excellent and quite welcome. We had plenty to eat. The weather was just right for a table in the lit outside garden, private and relaxing. The breakfast was also excellent. It is only a short 2-block walk to the cathedral and another block to the plaza area, so the location was perfect. We were pleasantly surprised by the overall exceptional quality of our stay--it was better than expected--and we would pick the same hotel again if we are back in Santa Fe.

Room Tip: Our 3rd floor room had no elevator, but that was not a problem and we especially enjoyed having a sk...

The Inn On The Alameda has a lot going for it. The location is perfect for Santa Fe…..everything is within walking distance ranging from Canyon Road (art galleries) to the plaza and many of Santa Fe's best restaurants. The rooms are nice, clean & comfortable. Breakfast is included; however, everyday it is the "same limited choices"….. Enough said !! The staff is very accommodating; however, our only complaint is that it took a full day after three requests to get our room safe unlocked. The property is fully priced but value is received.

I stayed at Inn on the Alameda on a trip to Santa Fe with my mom and nephew. The service really stood out. All staff were kind and very accommodating. They also offer nice walking tours of Santa Fe for a small price which I very much recommend. The included breakfast is wonderful with lots of options including things like frittata, eggs, and homemade pastries. Also, great location within walking distance of the main walking area but yet far enough away not to be woken up by the church bells.

To top it all off, staff really demonstrated their kindness and outstanding service after we left. I stupidly left my passport in the room safe. Days later I contacted the inn to inquire about this. They went far above and beyond the call of duty here by even rushing to drive the passport to the federal express office by closing time to get it in the mail in time for my upcoming trip. They were so helpful in this crisis that I created myself! I would definitely stay there again.

Thank you so much for taking your time to write such a lovely review and especially for mentioning the staff's response to your forgotten passport.

They all worked quickly as a team to get the passport through rush hour traffic with minutes to spare, even calling ahead to alert FedEx, and took great pride when they were able to report to me, "mission complete".

We look forward to welcoming you back to the Inn on your next visit to our wonderful town.

The hotel is clean and charming. We upgraded to a suite which provided adequate space. Jose at the front desk was very accommodating and helpful during our stay. One area that needs improvement: breakfast.

We have been staying at the Inn for many years and each year we make our reservations for the next year. If you want to stay somewhere with friendly, caring staff and beautiful surroundings, this is the place. It is close enough to walk to the Plaza and to Canyon Rd so you can leave your car parked, but if you need to go a bit farther, they now have a shuttle. The thing we enjoy the most, is the small hotel feel you get with personal attention that the staff gives to the guests.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony or patio.

This is a great place for excursions in and out Santa Fe. Well maintained, clean and pretty. Not too large but not too small. We loved the place. However the quality went down during breakfast (buffet included) which used all the ingredients from low class chain hotels: Liquid egg from the can, plastic fruits like everywhere, unsightly plastic cheese. Felts like a holiday inn express a little. The breakfast brought our rating down. We'd had expected something more special to fit the surrounding the hotel provides. At least fresh stuff from the region.

Also the clientele is (when we were there) close to 100% retirees, but we attributed this to the Opera event, many guest took the shuttle in the evening to see the outstanding Santa Fe Opera.

Room Tip: Try to avoid downstairs rooms, downstairs often stares at a wall separating the parking lot. It'...

Thank you for sharing your love of our quiet and convenient location, however, I must correct your misconceptions about breakfast. We use real eggs in real shells which we crack in house and scramble daily, the fruits is also cut fresh daily, not frozen or canned. The red and green chile indigenous and local favorites, The quiches are made in house on the weekends with fresh local produce. The breads and pastries are from local pastry shops. I would enjoy hearing more about your expectation for breakfast.

Again thank you for taking your time to write a review.
