Enjoy comfortable and casual Santa Fe charm at the Inn on the Alameda. The hotel offers a great location to walk to the heart of the city and good restaurants. Breakfast is included and offers a variety of warm quiche's, burritos, fresh fruit and gorgeous pastries from Angel's bakery. From 4-5 pm a Happy Hour is included with nice cheeses, fruits, relish trays and you get two beverages (wine, beer or sodas) all complimentary. Sit in front of the fire or relax on the patio terrace to enjoy a pre-dinner drink. Such a great value. Staff is very warm, friendly and helpful. We spent 7 days there and it could not have been more enjoyable!

The Inn on the Alameda is a lovely hotel within walking distance of the Plaza in Santa Fe. To our surprise we were not only upgraded to a suite but a discount coupon was accepted. Included breakfast is delicious with several different kinds of quiche and fresh fruit among many other goodies. The 4 PM to 5 PM wine hour was relaxing with good quality wine. Besides your choice of various white and red wines an excellent house made red sangria. On the way home my wife realized she forgot her eye glasses. The courteous staff went out of their way to go to the post office and had them forwarded to us via Next-Day Express Mail so we could even receive these on a Saturday and not wait until Monday.

We just returned from a three day stay at the Inn on the Alameda. Everything about the Inn was very nice. It was pleasant and charming and evoked the flavor of Old Santa Fe. Our room was a standard room but it was quiet and comfortable just what you would expect and with a southwest decor. Included was a super deluxe breakfast. The breakfast was far superior to most hotel fare for instance think freshly made quiche of different varieties and an assortment of sweet rolls and breads. In the evening there was complimentary wine and beer. The Inn is located within walking distance to the Plaza and to Canyon Road. Parking was free. The staff were friendly and helpful. This was our second time staying at the Inn and we will be back hopefully soon!

We chose this hotel based on reviews and value and could not have been happier. Our room was very large with more storage than lfound in hotels both in the bedroom and bathroom. It was in a building just down from the main one and had its own lobby to sit in with a good assortment of magazines. The main lobby had a fireplace and games. It was a delight to play scrabble in front of the fire after a chilly day. Breakfast was perhaps the only letdown. The hot dishes were not appealing but there was a good assortment of other foods and fresh fruit salad. The cocktail hour was very pleasant after a day of sightseeing with both wine, cold drinks and assorted cheeses and spreads. The location makes walking to most sights veery pleasant. The laundry room was a surprise and handy when away for a long time. I would return and recommend the hotel.

Room Tip: Away from the main road to avoid noise.

We are pleased that you enjoyed your room in our deluxe building. A note to future guests, this building does have an elevator where the traditional wing does not. We regret that the catered hot dishes were not to your liking but we are glad that you were able to find other items on the buffet to enjoy. Have a wonderful winter and we look forward to maybe a future visit here at the Inn.

We arrived right at 5PM, the end of their free happy hour (4-5) of lovely wine, good beers, snacks of cheese, fruit, veggies, hummus and bread. While we were checking in they told the dining area staff to leave the food and drink for us, and to make sure we had what ever we wanted. We really aapreciated that since we arrive hungry. They arranged reservations both nights for us..even though it was only a table for two. That is something you want to make sure you do esp. on weekends or you won't get in where you want to.
Our beds were tall, comfy with fresh pressed linens and lots of pillow, spotless bathroom, good heat and air..we used both during our stay. Coffee and tea is always available in the comortable drawing room or bar, both with nice fire places going all day long. Nice place to relax and meet other travelers. As for the staff, nothing was too much to ask for. Breakfast had burritos, boiled eggs, cottage cheese, 2 kinds of quiche, spanish tortilla, at least a doz types of sweet breads, fruit, juice and cereals. There is no restaurant on premise, but they have sandwiches in the fridge if you need a quick bite. All this and easy walk to the 2 major plazas...great stay.

Sometimes we find traditional B &B's a little too much with their chummy breakfasts and too thoughtful decor. Having just had an over the top experience, we wanted a place that provided the amenities and the service without that too much attention to detail. Combing the TripAdvisor for its Santa Fe reviews, we zeroed in on the Inn on the Alameda. A hybrid between an inn and a hotel, it offered all the little extras we enjoy: a tasty breakfast consisting of a slice of the creamiest quiche, fresh fruit, Danish, breads, and a bottomless cup of coffee. Served between 7:00 and 11:00, we could wander in whenever we wanted and we could sit by ourselves rather than at a communal table. In the afternoon, between 4:00 and 5:00, we enjoyed the Inn's complimentary wine and cheese service. We sat in the cozy, comfortable living room, warmed by a crackling fire, and stayed there until it was time to get ready for dinner.

When we booked, all that was available were standard rooms. Ours featured two queen sized beds and French doors opening to a small, unfurnished balcony. We could open the doors and enjoy the freshest air. The staff was also welcoming and helpful. The housekeepers kept our room fresh and clean.

So why did I only rate this place with 4 stars rather than 5? In spite of its breakfasts, wine and cheese, free parking, comfy robes, and location, I found the decor throughout our building a bit tired and dreary. The mousy brown and gray carpet in the halls and rooms was too industrial and somber. The pumpkin colored bed spreads, dim lighting, dark wood ceiling, and wooden blinds added to the room's weary feel. This is a relatively minor complaint. How much time do we spend in our room? Not much, but maybe we'd have spent more if the furnishings were fresher and brighter. So the real question becomes: will I book at the Inn when I return to Santa Fe? All things being equal, absolutely. No question about it.

We appreciate your honest review of your stay with us. So pleased that you enjoyed the included continental buffet and wine hour. With the season being over, we will be replacing the carpeting in the traditional rooms before the end of February. Thank you for choosing the Inn and we look forward to your return.

We love the Inn. Close to Canyon Road and the square. It's great to come in after a busy day and chill at the complimentary wine and cheese gathering. Charlie makes great sangria! Staff worked to accommodate our last minute reservation. We had to switch rooms during our stay but that was fine. They handle it. We wanted this Inn. This is not a place for young families--another plus for us. No kids racing each other to the pool. No crying infants. Staff will post cards for you and the small business room allows you to print your boarding passes. The adobe buildings are adorned with strung chiles and the lanscaping is kept up. Aspens were beautiful in the fall. Kept like a large bed and breakfast.

Thank you for your kind words and for the special mention of Charlie, our bartender. We are so pleased that the move was not inconvenient for you during your stay. We do try to make it as easy as possible. For those guests that may be out exploring Santa Fe and need a boarding pass printed, the Front Desk is happy to do it for you as well. We hope to see you again.
