What I like about this Inn is its homey feeling. You'll get a sense of it as soon as you step into the cozy "lobby" area, which is really like a living room, with its rocking chairs by the fireplace and sofas so comfortable that we wanted to take naps on them. Guests gather in the dining room for surprisingly substantial "continental" breakfasts and then again in the afternoon for wine & cheese... If I understood correctly, every room here is a casita, with its own little courtyard -- so private, we practiced morning yoga in it. Loved the lush, brick-paved walkways, and LOVED the spacious bathroom!!!

A stay in this Inn is not at all like "staying at a hotel" -- it's like being home, except on a smaller scale. The staff is super friendly & helpful. The location is hard to beat because it's a very short walk to BOTH Canyon Rd. and the plaza. Out of curiosity, we visited other hotels while on this trip (just returned home last night) and we're convinced that Inn on the Alameda will be our home whenever we're in Santa Fe. Check out the rates, you'll find them very competitive considering the free breakfasts and free parking...and SPACIOUS BATHROOM!!!

We are so pleased that you enjoyed your casita and it sounds like you were in one of our suites, although I am not positive. We do have traditional hotel style rooms as well in our traditional and deluxe buildings. Our staff so appreciates you taking the time to mention them and we look forward to welcoming you again.

Excellent service, very friendly staff. We received a complimentary room upgrade and were very impressed with the free afternoon wine and cheese and the delicious continental breakfast. It is a very quiet, small inn, a few blocks from the plaza and right next to the galleries on Canyon St. Will definitely stay here again.

I look forward each time I return to Santa Fe to staying at the Inn on the Alameda. The hotel has charm and ambiance of a small country inn. The Inn is located 3 blocks from the historic Plaza, about a 10 minute walk, in a quiet location. This distance separates it from the tourist throngs which fill the streets around the Plaza. There rooms are in several buildings and "casitas." Buildings and room decor reflect the Santa Fe style. Room rates include a wine & cheese reception each afternoon, and an excellent upscale expanded "Continental" breakfast.
The following notes pertain to the "casita" rooms, which are more up-scale than the standard rooms (which also are very nice, by the way). Staff was exceptionally accommodating. Front desk staff is trained to be a concierge for the guests in making sightseeing or restaurant reservations. The "casita" room was quite large, with a fireplace. Window opens. Climate control recycles room air. Hardwood floor. Wardrobe instead of a closet. Daybed lounge, desk, good lighting. Free WiFi in room. Large bathroom (with skylight). Plush linens. Firm mattress. Very quiet location. Free parking. My principal objection was the use of wood blinds on the windows instead of curtains. While direct light is blocked by the blinds, the room is not "dark" with the blinds closed.

Wonderful staff from check-in, to check-out. We arrived early and we were called on our cell when our room was ready. Easy walk to Plaza, o'keefe museum. Short drive to winery. Very nice wine & cheese hour and over the top breakfast. Will definitely return

We are so pleased that you were able to start exploring Santa Fe and our staff notified you when your room was available. It is so much easier to park at the Inn and start sightseeing. Thank you for the accolades for the staff and our included amenities.

Staff in a word...EXCELLENT!!! Location, great....but.....only in comfortable shoes is it close enough to the Plaza. If shoes aren't comfy, best to drive! Breakfast was terrific and complimentary, not the norm for a free breakfast, BETTER!!! They even have tempting delights for you to purchase if you go for a hike, etc. Wonderful decor and so nice to have a patio to sit and enjoy the sky, sights and sounds. We had a double room for 3 gals....would choose a larger unit next time but will definitely be back. The double beds were comfy but room just too cramped for three. The lobby area was so warm and inviting and again the staff...AMAZING and so ACCOMODATING. Awesome little nooks with hot tubs and the courtyard areas so sweet. You can't wrong here!

Thank you so much for recognizing our wonderful staff in your review. They really do enjoy assisting our guests with area information, restaurants and so much more. I agree that comfy shoes are an easier way to get around the city. It certainly is walkable to many of the museums, galleries and shops in our downtown area, but "comfy" makes it so much easier. The next time you stay with us, please inquire about room 134 or 305 as they have more space with two queen beds and a fireplace as well.
