“Still Great!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2012

This is our 4th stay at the Inn on the Alameda, and we keep coming back for several reasons:
It's convenient to Santa Fe's Plaza, Canyon Rd., and lots of other attractions. It is very nicely maintained and decorated. It provides both a free lovely breatfast buffet (7AM - 11 AM) AND a free low-key Happy Hour from 4-5 PM. Staff is wonderfully helpful. The Inn isn't cheap, but we regularly have received "returning guest" discounts AND upgrades to larger rooms. What's not to like?

Enjoyed our stay - nice room (small) - nice, friendly service at front desk. Easy walk to plaza and restaurants. Would stay here again.

In on the Alameda is a charming inn with great big rooms - we had a king with a fireplace - wonderful way to spend the evening. Inn is close to Canyon Rd and the center of town - quiet and welcoming. Great breaffast with lots of gluten-free options. Nice wine and cheese reception every day at 4. Very relaxing and peaceful.

This is one of those reviews that I really had to ponder before writing. My family of four stayed here over the New Year's holiday and we really enjoyed the hotel - no question about it. My only hesitation is that it's such a great, relaxing place that I would only bring kids if they are used to traveling and enjoy an upscale, peaceful atmosphere. In my opinion, this hotel is best for couples/adults. That's not to say they aren't accommodating to kids (they are), it's just that the "retreat" ambience doesn't really lend itself to energetic kids. If you plan on bringing kids and they fall into the "extremely energetic" category, this may not be the place for you.

Having said that, we did like this place a lot. The afternoon wine & cheese was a real treat and the breakfast was, hands down, one of the best offerings (free or otherwise) I've ever seen at a hotel.

Our room was very clean, nice furnishings, big bathroom and had a nice little balcony. It was on the third floor, and there is no elevator, but we didn't mind because we definitely got our exercise.

I also got one of the best night's sleep I've ever gotten at a hotel - and this was on New Year's Eve! Those of you who are light sleepers will love the peace & quiet. On the other hand, the hustle and bustle of Santa Fe is just a few minute's walk away.

The front desk staff was wonderful - very helpful. They suggested a great restaurant for dinner and made sure we knew where the best shopping was. Overall, it was a wonderful place with a very peaceful vibe - well worth a visit.

First, we received a complimentary upgrade when we checked in. Then they gave us chocolate treats for using a FourSquare check-in.

The suite was a very generous size, sitting area with chair, couch and a lovely wood burning kiva in the corner. There was also a small fridge and a Keurig coffee machine. The room was very nicely decorated.

A breakfast comes with the room with a large number of offerings - quiche, cereal, muffins, fruits, and several more categories. They even had several vegan and gluten-free items. There is also complementary wine and cheese in the afternoons.

All this would give them a solid 4 star rating in my book. What rocketed them into one of my rare 5 star ratings is the service. If I come wandering into the lobby at 8 pm with a craving for a cold cereal and the night manager happily rummages through the kitchen to accommodate me - you get a kudos. If you don't tack an extra charge for this you get a 5 star rating!

My best friend and I finally planned a getaway without kids and hubbies! The package offered by the Inn on the Alameda suited us perfectly! We found a 5K to run on Saturday and the massages were so perfect afterward. (although if you don't train at altitude,...running a 5K at 7200 feet was so HARD!) We were very centrally located to restaurants, shopping and chocolate! We had one dinner at Chocolate Maven, fro yo at Frogurt, two different chocolate outings to CGHiggins and Kakawa House. It was all good! We shopped at Jackalope and found a couple of things and really loved Yippee Yi Yo and Doodets off the plaza. Overall, it was a great weekend and I would definitely return to the Inn on the Alameda. PS. Really enjoyed the breakfasts and the happy hour, included in the price!

Room Tip: My friend and I are very into jigsaw puzzles and our room had a nice size table that we were able to...

A last minute change of plans found us in Santa Fe celebrating our 30th anniversary. Other reviewers convinced us to give the Inn on the Alameda a try. We are SO glad! We were afraid we might be disappointed because of the many kudos....after all, how could it be that good?? But alas, all the reviewers were spot on. The soothing atmosphere was perfect and the staff exceptional. The breakfast (with newspapers), the king sized room with fireplace, public spaces, happy hour, parking, and near perfect location all combined to make this a special place indeed! We will be back - perhaps for another anniversary. Santa Fe off season is a good thing.
