“Beautiful hotel in quiet location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2013

My husband and I spent three days in Santa Fe in June. We wanted a better than average hotel that could give us a quiet room (seems like an impossibility these days) and we found a great deal on-line for the Hotel Santa Fe. When we called to ask about it, Chris told us about a special called Spring to Summer. We specified we wanted a room on the top floor in a quiet location and Chris lined up the perfect room for us -- Room 315 -- a King Suite on the third floor with only one common wall. We heard absolutely no noises from the other rooms or the hallways! What an amazing find. The one drawback I could comment on would be that the bathroom, at least in our unit, seemed older and was rather dark. Other than that, we couldn't recommend a hotel more highly. The King Suite also had a refrigerator and microwave. Very comfortable. Enjoy!

Room Tip: Our room -- Room 315 -- had absolutely no outside noise.

You are asked to pay an $18 resort fee when you stay here, but this isn't much of a "resort." The pool is OK but not much different from a regular hotel pool. Same with the workout center. You get wifi included, which is nice, but I'm one of those travelers who feel that all hotels should offer free wifi or risk seeming very 2003. You don't even get breakfast included. Considering the rooms are dated, the beds are uncomfortable and small (I forgot how small a double bed is compared to a queen -- we were in a suite with two beds in one room and a foldout couch in the other), and the hotel isn't as close to the Plaza as you might be led to believe, you might feel, as I did, that you'd be better off paying less at one of the hotel chains that offer free breakfast (and lower rates). The staff are nice and the hotel is fine, but it isn't the resort they claim it to be. And here's what bugged me the most: they have a free coffee bar in the morning, but they only offer milk instead of half and half. They'll give you the cream if you ask for it, but shouldn't it be part of the coffee bar? This seems like a fitting metaphor for the hotel itself.

Room Tip: If you are traveling with a family and need room for sleeping, know that the suites with two beds fe...

Sorry to learn that you didn’t enjoy your stay. We offer milk as a healthier alternative to half and half, but all you had to do was ask and it shall be given!! All our beds have been replaced within the past three years and as stated, we are five blocks from the Plaza. Nonetheless, I acknowledge you won’t be back and wish you well on your future travels.

My wife, grandson, and I stayed in a deluxe king suite with balcony. The sitting room was perfect; the bedroom was a bit tight with about two feet of space on each side of the bed. Our suite on the third floor overlooked the pool and the Paseo. The hotel was pleasant, quiet, and charming. The desk accommodated early check in and called me when the room was ready. I am unable to give the hotel a rating of excellent for a few reasons. First, the bellman at the entrance offered no help with luggage as I unloaded the car. Second, no help was offered inside the hotel as I struggle with five pieces to get to the room. Third, bar service was not available at the pool. The hotel did not offer valet parking; however, I found that to be a convenience because ample parking was available on site and we did not need to wait for a valet to deliver our car when needed. I will consider staying at the Hotel Santa Fe again.

Room Tip: Request room on upper floor with balcony and mountain view.

Many apologies for the doorman not helping you with your luggage both outside and inside the Hotel!! Absolutely unacceptable. Nonetheless, thank you for staying with us and I am delighted to learn you enjoyed your stay and I hope you both had a fun time with your grandson. Enjoy those special times!

This hotel is perfectly situated in Santa Fe to walk to most places and with the shuttle service you get to pretty much the rest of Santa Fe. We stayed in the Santa Fe Deluxe King Suite. This suite is fine for a night, due to its small size. The bathroom was functional, but a little dated.

The service in the hotel is exemplary. We definitely will be coming back, but will then stay in the Hacienda.

Room Tip: Get a room in the hacienda if you are staying longer or like a little more space.

Many thanks for staying with us. We replaced all the bathroom counters with lovely granite in the past few years and are slowly, but surely replacing all the bathtubs, however, we look forward to welcoming you to the Hacienda next time!!

My mother (85 years young) and I stayed in your hotel for the very first time on May 25, 26, 2013. We have stayed in La Fonda, La Posada, Inn on the Alameda in the past and will never stay anyplace in the future but your hotel! To be greeted by the two young native american men (cousins, we later found out) , with their handsome attire (and faces!) was a fantastic first impression. They were more than courteous to me and especially my mother. The young men rushed to open doors -very impressive. The front desk check in experience proved to be warm and friendly and perfect service as well. Frances was an absolute delight! What a wonderful person to greet all at the check-in and handle the necessary 'paperwork'/information.
Our room overlooked the pool and was just wonderful. The pool area private and beautifully landscaped and maintained. I loved soaking in the hot tub during the cool evening. A large pinon tree with birds chirping, was next to our balcony- making it feel as if we were out in the country instead of the middle of Santa Fe during the busy tourist season. Hotel Santa Fe is NOT in congested downtown area, yet still downtown. It was easy to park our rental car in your spacious parking areas. Next time we will utilize your fantastic in town shuttle/taxi service that is complimentary.
The cozy bar area was wonderful on Saturday night with the Native American flute music and musician around the fireplace.Felt as if home with friends. Sunday morning breakfast outside on the patio near the full size authentic teepee was over the top perfect! We really felt as if we were in our own private hacienda...with fantastic art (as if in a gallery) everywhere. The pottery especially impressed me as I am a ceramic artist and art teacher.I strongly recommend Hotel Santa Fe and the amazing people who work there (without the great staff, you have nothing) for your next visit to incomparable Santa Fe, New Mexico!

Room Tip: A room overlooking pool is quite nice! Although it might be a bit noisy during times when children i...

Oh! Such great, kind and inspiring words of encouragement to us all!! Thank you so very much for brining your “young” mother to stay with us and it sounds as though you both had a “blast”. We hope you enjoy those times together on many more occasions!

Your lengthy review is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I loved this hotel. It was clean, warm and inviting! The staff was amazing! Robert, who was part of the butler staff, helped with choosing restaurants and enlightening us on the culture of beautiful Santa Fe! We, unfortunately, had to depart a day early, and the front desk staff was very accommodating in refunding a night's stay. I can't wait to come back!

My friend of 35 years and I recently stayed at the Hotel Santa Fe for a get-away, 4-day weekend. We had a fantastic time! The decor is beautiful and calming, the suite was spacious, and the beds were comfortable (and I'm a light sleeper, so a comfy bed is a must). The staff could not have been nicer or more gracious; when my friend and I had a question about the hairdryer, the desk staff the following day remembered us and asked if our issue had been addressed. The hotel is absolutely beautiful inside and out; the spa is a "must-see" for its incredible, one-of-a-kind quartz crystal wall and sky-and-clouds painted walls. We had very relaxing massages at the spa. The entire atmosphere is one of calm and tranquility everywhere around the property. Wander the hotel to see all the Native-American themed artwork and decor. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed the convenience of being able to easily walk to the main Plaza area of town, although we also appreciated the free shuttle ride to and from the area, which is especially a boon to shoppers! We both agreed we would definitely stay again at Hotel Santa Fe and Spa. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: We stayed on the second floor at the end of a hallway, and it was very quiet and peaceful.

The Spa is indeed a special place and your description of it and also the Hotel is exactly what we set on to achieve during design and installation!! Many thanks for writing to tripadvisor.com with your kind words.
