My wife and I have been coming to the Santa Fe Opera for the last 30 years.....
Quite an undertaking, considering we drive all the way from Southern California,
but it is worth it time and time again.
The setting is superb; open air, sunsets and moonrise and yes, if you are lucky,
sometimes even a thunderstorm....(To see Lucia di Lammermoore or Madame Butterfly
in a setting like that.... it can't get much better...!)
The Opera company is WORLD CLASS and their selection of operas is amazing in variety:
From the Classic and to the Modern composers: You pick whatever suits your taste.
And the S.F.O. audience is about the most gracious and friendliest in the country.
It shows that they are proud of their little gem.
Exquisit.... an artistic eye- and ear candy every time.
PS: Try to participate in one of the tailgate picnics prior to the performance.
Opera is NEVER a stiff a affair in Santa Fe!
