“Our First Visit to Santa Fe, What an experience!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2012

First of all , I would like to thank all the people who helped us plan this trip!,
We finally stayed at El Paradero in Manhattan Bld. The staff were very helpful and very kind. Our bedroom, although very pleasant at first sight ,was very tiny for two people, with hardly enough storage space to keep our belongings for 10 days|! Also There was no fridge. However we had a lovely stay and the guests were very friendly. The Patio with its fountain is very pretty.
The Opera House is magic with a natural open air back drop to the stage that can magically adapt cleverly to any dramatic opera scene. The 5 operas we saw were all seriously and beautifully produced and Santa Fe opera is a must for opera lovers, at least once.
The desert Choral and Chamber music were most enjoyable. We really were struck by the very high quality of art in all its forms and representation.
We had some lovely meals at Martin (on Galisteo) Casa Sena nr the Piazza, The compound on Kenyon Street, Cow Girl is a great Mexican fun restaurant, Chimayo Ranch in Chimayo. Chimayo pueblo itself is delightful, a visit to its churches is a must. Pueblos like Bandeliers, and Pecos are very interesting historically .However we were very disappointed by Taos pueblo which is so commercialized that spirituality seems to have disappeared from there.

The architecture of Santa

Fe itself, its museums, buildings in pueblo style seem to emerge from a fairy book for adults and children alike.

We loved it and are coming back again next year!

“Excellent venue”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2012

This venue is amazing! Gorgeous and easy to get to. The Marachi extravaganza show was very entertaining and well worth seeing. We had excellent seats in the Front orchestra area, but honestly there is not a bad seat in the house. The only dislike was not being informed that we couldn't take our glass of wine inside the theater after purchasing a small glass for $7 about 5 minutes before the show started. Supposedly, there is a sign on the front entrance gate. Didn't see it because the gate was open. We weren't the only people fooled. There were at least 20 by the door gulping drinks down. They would make more money if they let people take drinks in. Just sayin'

“Fabulous setting and opera company”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

Saw The Pearl Fishers closing night 2012 season at end of August. Great company, setting. Had seats next to top row - not a problem - sound fabulous, view wonderful. Can't wait till next year. This company compares to some of best anywhere.
