“Inspiring Place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

This is a must see for anyone visiting the Santa Fe area. There are plenty of shops and people here are so friendly. The regions Native American's set up their displays for items hand made by them at a remarkable price. This is truly a must see for anyone visiting the area. Enjoyed the Plaza very much, and its also within walking distance of most hotels in the area, as was much of the restaraunts. Definitely worth going back for!!!

“Beautiful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013

One thing about Santa Fe - you can definitely shop till you drop!!! There are many higher end specialty stores and lots of souvenir-type places. But on the plaza side of the Palace of the Governors, members of the local Indian tribes set up to sell their wares. The city only allows tribal members to sell there and their wares must be hand made, so no flea market crap here. Sometimes the prices are great and sometimes they are a little steep, but don't be afraid to haggle. We did and were never turned down flat. Also on the plaza are some yummy restaurants and live music on occasion. It is a tranquil place to sit and rest your feet, too.

“You really have to.....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013 via mobile

Not really my favorite place but it was much better than old town Albuquerque. Too much of the same thing over and over. The merchants were nice and not at all pushy. The architecture was beautiful and I enjoyed strolling the area.

“Worth a walk through”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

On the one side of the plaza are Native Americans selling crafts. The rest of the plaza is flanked with shops, restaurants, and a large park. Some interesting gifts. Definitely a good place to buy some gifts for family back home.

“A Must ...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

All visitors MUST spend a morning or afternoon walking around the Plaza. The Native Americans selling their artifacts in front of the Palace of the Governors are the "Real Thing". Frequent events in the bandstand add extra fun. Many of the shops are terrific, although some feature Chinese knock-offs and false Middle-Eastern promotions. Just be careful if you purchase from anyone other than a Native American!
