This Japanese-inspired B & B is, as the owner explains, a "work in progress." Located on 15 acres about half way between Friday Harbor and Roche Harbor, the B & B sits in a wooded setting with no views; it has four rooms, each with private bath. The main house with its four guest rooms is nicely decorated and it has radiant floor heating in its concrete floors. The common area is pleasant, with a gorgeous kitchen and living room, and a large dining table.
The guest rooms have TVs with built-in DVD players and comfortable platform beds. The bathrooms have very nice showers, but the real treat is the two-person, very deep soaking tubs. They have a number of settings for the jets, and the water fills from the ceiling! The breakfasts were delicious and filling; expect to have difficulty getting up from the table. In addition, Bob, the owner, made cookies or other treats each afternoon.
The only downside to the property is that the walls are very thin. We could hear almost everything that took place in the bedroom (or bathroom) adjacent to ours. A final note: Although we enjoyed our stay on San Juan Island, next time we'll stay on Orcas, as we think it is prettier.
