“Great coffee on the Island.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2014

Iced mocha and lavender iced tea were amazing! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who enjoys a good cup of joe.

“Good food but Service a bit disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2014

Went for breakfast, ordered two non fat lattes and was given two vanilla lattes so they had to remake the coffee order, no apology offered for mixing up the order. Wait seemed like a long time for take out, reasonable amount of people dining but wouldn't call it busy. The food however was very good. The breakfast sandwich on the croissant with sausage, cheese and egg was delicious and the breakfast wrap was very good as well. The one complaint is the presumption of a tip for what was essentially counter service. Your order is rung up and they swing the screen around and give you options to select 15, 18, 20% tip. The service was average and on the border of poor but it's presumed you will give at least a 15% tip. We noticed this at a few places on the island and were a bit insulted that even with poor service the expectation of 15% is included in the online receipt you are presented with.

“Coffee for the ferry ride”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2014

The shop is right by the ferry waiting area, so we opted to go there rather than a couple others. The wait was long and the beverages were really too hot to drink right away. As an adventurer, and a coffee lover, I was hoping to find a cute coffee cup to take home, but no such luck. They have nothing in the way of merchandise. Odd, because if I wanted something, I'm sure there are many others. Oh well. My chai was good, but I waiting about an hour to drink it, because of its temperature.

“Great spot while you wait for the coffee”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2014

I am frequently leaving the island in the morning after business trips, this is a very nice little spot to get a solid cup of coffee and a bite to eat in the morning.

“Really nice cafe just up from ferry landing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2014

Lots of cafes and coffee shops cluster around Friday Harbor's ferry landing, but Bean is our favorite . . . Consistently good pastry, sandwiches, etc., very good coffee, many tables with views, and VERY FAST wireless Internet. Reviews noting the slow service when there are crowds . . . also testify to the place's popularity. Before or after, make sure that you go uphill one block to the island's best used bookstore--located in a cute Victorian house, with rooms and rooms packed full . . . Fair prices . . . Some rare island-history gems . . . A very nice maritime section just to the right when entering.
