When we first pulled up to the house, I remember thinking "It's cute, but how private can it be so close to town, across from a school, and with all the rooms adjacent to one another." But, when I stepped inside I was transported to another place and time.
The decor of the house itself, with its dark beams, rich colors, and antique furnishings takes you back; add to that, the mood that you that greets you - quiet music, embracing warmth, and soothing scents. It was beautiful! The room itself was perfect for us: romantic, yet a little rustic. Our room featured a HUGE shower for two (with plenty of room to move), a wonderfully soft bed, and a cozy fireplace. Very romantic and highly recommended!
As for private...I didn't even realize the other occupants were there until the next morning at breakfast...which brings me to the food - YUMMM! Alan and Debbie set a wonderfully scrumptious table. And there were always little surprise snacks available each time we returned from our day of exploration.
The island is quiet with lots of tucked away places to explore. The seaside town is quaint and within walking distance - perfect for a romantic stroll. All in all, a wonderful place hosted by wonderful people...Thanks Alan and Deb!
