I've been to Friday Harbor many times, but this was my first visit to Roche Harbor. I can say that it won't be my last. It is definitely a place for boaters, but my sister and I just loved the quietness of it all. We stayed in one of the rooms without a bathroom, but the price was right and the view was spectacular. The staff is extremely friendly and the room was very nice. We had dinner at one of the restaurants, and during sundown, there was a little celebration where the Canadian national anthem, the US national anthem and Taps was played. As a travel agent, I highly recommend this property for anyone, singles, couples or families who are in need of a relaxing get-away.

I recommend this to couples..that will remember that this Hotel is over 100 years old..so don't expept to have all the modern..conveniences
BUT that's the very special reason to enjoy this place..Yes they have hot water..And yes it's extremly clean..And yes IT's a Friendly place..one of the nicest I've stayed at..And the room is furnished in period furniture..I didn't take anything{LoL}

All 3 front desk persons..are wonderful..sorry I only got Barrets name..and I believe I meet a Manager type..Very Tall Gentleman..Top notch..

And the gounds even in Oct.fantastic..

Stay here to relax..and get a view of life in a slow and relaxed pace..

Tea time anyone..Jolly Good time..

We stayed at the Hotel De Haro in Roche Harbor Resort Village. The village is great, a short distance from Friday Harbor, but much nicer and quieter. The hotel room was a shared bath situation, but wasn't any problem. The ladies' room had a beautiful huge footed bathtub, no shower. The rooms were quaint with antiques, comfortable beds, no air conditioning, but windows that opened. The elec outlet in our room wasn't working, so using a hair dryer was difficult. The rooms have a sink in them. The walls were a little thin, we could hear some noise from other rooms. The management was not particularly friendly or helpful, although the lady I spoke to when I booked was very friendly and helpful. The hotel and the resort are beautiful, I would go back again, but I would spring for the cabins or condos probably and do it in what they call the quiet season, as it was very crowded and busy. We did a kayaking trip with San Juan Safaris and it was great.

We stay every year, for the last ten years, and it has become a family tradition that now includes relatives from California, the best kept secret in Washington. the most relaxing place in the (Continental) US, next to Hawaii. Fresh crabing,claming, biking, hiking,boating, the best whale watching, as well as the exciting entertainment at the marina.
Love this resort. Jeanne S.
