“Fun spot”

We stopped in for an appetizer and beer, they had a wandering gipsy band on while we were there that was super fun! great beer to boot.

“OK Food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2012

I found their menu to be a bit odd. I wasn't sure if they were trying to be a pizza and burger place or a greek place. I had BBQ chicken tacos that were OK. My husband had a pizza that he didn't finish. It seemed like the cheese been frozen and separated when baked. He did say his stuffed jalepenos were excellent. Might go back again for drinks and live music but probably not for dinner.

“Tasteless lunch”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2011

I don't wish to be unkind, it's not my nature, but I must warn fellow travellers about the poor quality of food at this establishment. For starters, the lunch menu is unappealing and lets say limited. My wife and I ordered burgers. A safe choice? Hardly. They were appalling. Cheap bun, cheap ingredients and no fries. It's the policy of the establishment not to serve French fries. So we had burger and mashed potatoes. Perhaps it's a local delicacy. Possibly it is intended for a refined taste. Definitely it was intended for people wil no taste ... buds. It was shocking. At $14 each it was robbery. There are decent places for lunch on San Juan Island. From our experience, this isn't one of them. By the way, the coffee was good.

“Live Music & Good Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2011

we stumbled upon the Rumor Mill drawn by the live, Big band music. I'm glad they had the doors open, otherwise we might have wandered away and missed a great FH evening. Each night it seems they have a different style band, this night was Swing, with more than a dozen horns. It was also the singer's birthday - so they were full on. The next night was blue grass.
They have a large selection of local brews on tap, and all the usual bottled beers. They also have a good wine list and a full bar. The waitress came right over to inquire if we wanted supper, or were just going to hang out and enjoy the band. The menu looked good, with various tempting dishes. Never did we feel like we had to rush away, in spite of the place being full.
They are located a block up the hill from the ferry landing. They are well worth finding and enjoying the food, brews, and live music.
