Located at 62 First Street, just a block off of Spring Street in Friday Harbor, the Whale Museum is truly a delightful combination of science, history, and of course, WHALES. Visitors to the San Juans will absolutely delight in not only the historical and cultural education but will enjoy the magic of "getting to know" the whales firsthand.
Be sure to visit the "Gallery of Whales" during the trip- you'll get to meet the Southern Resident pods (J,K and L) personally... follow their lives and learn about current stewardship efforts in place to ensure their continuation as a species- all based on research conducted in the Island's waters since 1976.
The Whale Museum also hosts a number of programs geared towards saving the whales and educating the public.
