Our only regret about Lakedale was that we had to leave! We stayed in a second floor lodge room and it was very, very clean and lovely. It had a small refrigerator, fireplace and the bathroom was quite large and very nice. Our room had a large porch that overlooked the lake. It was beautiful and very peaceful. We had a nice continental breakfast...bagels, muffins, fruit. My husband and I were traveling with our grown children...19,21...so finding a room with two beds, in an area that has so many bed and breakfasts was quite difficult. Lakedale was a lucky find. The kids didn't want to leave! I highly recommend Lakedale and would love to have the opportunity to return some day.

We stayed here on July 12,13, 14 for a wedding. We rented a small cabin. I was worried that it would be a shack more than a cabin. I was wrong. They have recently updated and the couch was very comftorable and had a pull out bed. Everything was very clean. They had two twin beds upstairs and a bathroom and a queen bed and bathroom downstairs. The living area is a little small but functioned ok. The view from our back deck looked out onto a small lake where the kids could fish from. The beds were very comftorable, and the towels were soft. There was a food basket in our fridge when we checked in with coffee, tea, cocoa, cereal, milk, juice, apples, oranges and cinnamon rolls. It was all very fresh. Each day they brought us new coffee, and tea, and cocoa and some misc. The breakfast in the lodge was very good with a good variety of things to eat. We did this a lot because food in town was very expensive. the dvd library was decent, yes some old selections and some new and some for the kids, but it was free. The showers were tall enough I did not have to lean back to wash my hair. The only drawback was the housekeeping staff did not replenish our towels each day, even though we put them out like we were supposed to. the front desk got them to us on request. the staff is very friendly and the whole place is very peaceful. the cabins do not have a/c or television so make sure you bring a good book or some movies to watch. The mosquitos can get bad at night so bring bug spray. The hot tub was a four person tub that was enclosed so no bugs could get in, very clean also. We enjoyed out stay here and would come back again.

We needed a last minute place to stay on the island that accepted dogs. It was a busy weekend, so we had to settle with camping. Don't get me wrong, we LOVE to camp, so we were satisfied. The camping facilities were adequate. Most sites were not very private, but the campground was empty enough that we were able to switch from the site they reserved for us to a more private site. Most sites are on the lake and/or have a lake view. The Mosquitoes weren't bad at all - with bug spray. The campgrounds were clean and relatively quiet. The bathrooms were nice, and clean. However, there was only one bathroom building for the entire campground, with outhouses scattered throughout the campground. It was quite a walk to the bathrooms from our site. Also, there was no freshwater spigot near the camp sites. We had to haul water from the bathrooms to wash our dishes. Also, they had notices posted that they did not comply with water treatment regulations and very young, elderly, or otherwise imuno-compromised individuals should avoid drinking the water. Apparently they are working on installing the required filter, so hopefully this should be taken care of soon.
We did not stay in the lodge, but walked through the lobby and the back deck. It looked lovely, and well maintained. The view of the lake was beautiful. I would be interested in staying there if it had a view of the ocean...
Overall, we had a nice trip, and were very satisfied with our site and the campground in general. I would go back, if I couldn't find a motel that accepts dogs. But, for me, when I'm on the island, I want to be near the ocean. Next time, I'll be looking for a room with a view of the ocean - or better yet, a view of one of the harbors.

Lakedale has a "resort" (I would think of it more like a nice cabin stay than a resort... this place is laid-back and charming, but it's not romantic at all. Know before you go.)
I took my mother to Lakedale to camp at their private campgrounds and it was a blast! Because it isn't a state park, it's a bit more secure and out of the way. I think nearly every campsite is on on of the two lakes and we had a beautiful view of our lake. Couldn't have been happier with it.
We camped in August, which is the best weather and it's also the time when every hotel room on the island costs upwards of $250, so this was a real bargain even though we were roughing it. The location is halfway between the west side of the island (breathtaking sunsets) and Friday Harbor, so we were well situated to reach stores, amenities and anything else in a pinch. Very friendly staff on site. Very down home. GREAT for families. The kids can rent canoes for $6/hr, they can also fish, swim and play volleyball. Good times. Showers are a short walk from your campsite. You need to buy tokens from the general store.
