“Great Hotel for the price - but don't use self parking!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013

The hotel was very nice for the price but I used another traveler's recommendation and didn't use their self-parking. They charge $27/night in an offsite garage that only charges $12-$15 per night if you are not a hotel guest. Here's what to do--when you check in, do not tell them you need parking, they will immediately start to charge you for it. Instead before or after checking in park at the Riverbend parking garage across the street (http://sanantonio.centralparking.com/San-Antonio-Riverbend-Garage-Parking.html)

Also, it isn't noted, but they charge $10 per night per device for internet, so be sure to only log on with the one you need to use.

This hotel is great for the money--location, location, location but beware of the money traps. Additionally, the workout room has a lot of aerobic equipment and the outside looks shabby but the inside is clean and feels luxurious!

We appreciate you staying with us during your recent trip and taking the time to write a review. Thank you for your positive comments about our location and our interior renovations. You will be pleased to know the exterior building will be repainted this summer too. Parking is expensive at a majority of the downtown properties. While less expensive options may be available, we guarantee spaces for our hotel guests as well as provide unlimited in/out privileges. I do apologize if our internet pricing was not noticeable on our website and will review to make sure this information is displayed properly. Thank you again for staying with us and we look forward to having you back again.

I would have loved to give a much better rating because the hotel has a lot of good things going, location, price range, good staff etc + but the core delivery must be a good night sleep, and here noise is important. I found the street (and rail road) noise to be too high even at 16 floor, but the worst thing was a connecting door to the next room. This door appears to have no insulation whatsoever, and unfortunately there was a very load woman next door. She talk constantly + every night at least until 2 am and sometimes even later. Sometimes load arguments. So apart for waking ocationnaly i was also constantly reminded that they could hear any sound that i might make.

The room was resently redecurated and i like it very much, the bathroom was very nice. But they have to do something about that door )and try soundreducing window anes perhaps.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with even numbers facing away from Alamo street and if possible without interconnecti...

This terrific hotel on the San Anonio Riverwalk is suffering through a construction project across from them which makes al fresco dining at their river edge restaurant intolerable. Even inside was so loud that conversation was hard. Hopefully the jack hammers will be short lived, but on 4/8&9 it was bad.

Nice location and very helpful staff. What spoilt it was their refusal to grant a 2 pm checkout - refused to budge beyond 1 pm. I could understand if the hotel was full but this was not the case. Caused avoidable inconvenience as we were travelling with 2 small kids. Next time I'll stick to Marriotts.

A beautiful hotel in downtown San Antonio with great rooms and restaurants. Close to the Alamo and the Tower. The balcony was very nice. The River Walk is right out the back of the hotel. Very clean and accomodating!

Room Tip: A room with a balcony overlooking the river is perfect!

The San Antonio Hilton has the best location on the River Walk. The hotel is spotless, recently rennovated and the staff are all extremely friendly. The Hilton has been completely refurbished in a very tasteful way. The bed are extremely comfortable as well. I highly recommend this Hilton - it is one of the best we have every stayed at.

Travel for me is a nightmare. My diet has to be gluten free, no eggs, dairy, sugar,or soy. The three chefs at The River's Edge Restaurant ( David, James, Nick) were fantastic. And Priscilla was instrumental in getting me directly to Chef David prior to our arrival at the hotel. My husband and I were there over the Easter weekend celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. They never made me feel awkward with having to place special orders for each meal. We wanted to go to Europe for this special anniversary, but with my food restrictions decided it was better not to, as I have to eat 5-6 times per day. All of the staff from the front desk to room service were very helpful and it was so nice to sit outside for our meals. We want to thank all of them for their great service. Joyce & Ed Room 1020
