We spent two nights in San Antonio at the Oge. The location is fantastic, in the lovely Historic King William district. You can pick up a map of the neighborhood and take the walk through history, reading up on each home. It was so delightful, we did it twice. We stayed in the Mathis room, well decorated with antiques, a large, bright room in soft shades of blue. It was on the top floor, front of the house, with a relaxing verandah. The bathroom was small, but the shower had the best water pressure imagineable, and plenty of hot water. The king bed and pillows were firm. The hosts are very helpful with making arrangements, and calling for taxis, as we had no car. Breakfast was delicious, and just the right amount of food was on the plate. We loved walking everywhere, it is 10-15 minutes along the river into town. It is so nice being below the street level, meandering along, away from the traffic. You must go see the historic theatres there, so unique. The city has done a great job of developing the riverwalk, it is safe and beautiful at any time. The boat trip was fun on the river, it helped us to get a sense of where things were. If you want the finest in dining, le Reve was incredible and worth every dollar. The Oge is truly an elegant inn, and a special piece of history. It is quiet, clean, well maintained and comfortable, we were so pleased with our short stay.
