I attended a three day conference at this hotel and was well pleased with the facilities, rooms and service. The conference areas are well maintained and the public restrooms are very nice. The hotel staff went out of their way to make our stay and our conference the best possible. The rooms were a bit small but well appointed. I was surprised that the only bedding options are one king bed or two doubles - no queen beds in the whole hotel - but the beds were comfortable and the room was clean. With advance notice via online confirmation the hotel was able to accommodate our requests for early check in and a refrigerator in the room for our medications.
We ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant and the buffet was more than adequate. We also had room service for breakfast and were very pleased with the quality and quantity of food delivered in a timely and pleasant fashion. Aditionally, the lobby bar is very comfortable and offers good drinks and limited food service at reasonable prices.
There are a number of dining options attached to the hotel as well as direct access to the mall and the riverwalk. The hotel is very near the convention center and all tourist attractions. There is a UPS store in the hotel as well as a shop for sundries and snacks but the prices there are a bit steep. These items can also be purchased at the attached mall.
As San Antonio hotels go, the Rivercenter is an excellent choice at a reasonable price. The exceptional service adds to the overall value of the property.
The only negative would be the cost of parking - $33 per day for valet and $25 per day for self parking but there are other, more reasonable parking options nearby.
Overall, I can highly recommend the Marriott Rivercenter as an excellent place to stay for a conference and a good place for a vacation.
