The Marriott Riverwalk was a nice location and close to the river center mall. However, the Wi-Fi was not free in the rooms and the parking was pricey at $25 a night. The hotel did feel a little rundown but it was above average. The in room dining was awful and a waste of $50. The fries were soggy the macaroni was awful and my kids refuse to have them. All in all it was a 3 1/2 to four-star hotel.

The Marriott Riverwalk, San Antonio, TX, is a good lodging choice when visiting the San Antonio River Walk area. The location of the property is directly on the riverwalk with most riverwalk restaurants, bars, and places of interest within close proximity.

The gem of the Marriott Riverwalk is the fitness, pool, and recreation facilities. The fitness center is well appointed with equipment that will meet most people’s needs. The indoor-outdoor pool and indoor hot tub is a welcome pleasure after a hard workout. The facilities also offer a nice indoor and outdoor lounging space with plenty of chairs as well as a pool table and ping pong table.

The rooms are comfortable and relatively spacious. Although the furniture, carpet, and interior walls are beginning to show wear and tear from heavy tourist and business use. That said, the rooms are clean and the bedding is comfortable.

The staff of the Marriott Riverwalk is also quite accommodating and friendly. Each request or inquiry was answered with prompt service and immediate attention. Quite frankly, this in itself is a reason to patronize the Marriott Riverwalk San Antonio in the future.

Spent three days here for a conference. Good location, overlooks Riverwalk, four blocks from The Alamo. Standard hotel room but with good bed and high level of cleanliness. My complaints lie with the Lobby Bar staff service...or lack of it. I waited on the terrace with other guests for 15 mins for someone to take our drinks order. Had to go inside to a table and ask for help, and they didn't seem to care. The breakfast restaurant service, on the other hand, was very attentive and helpful.

Spent the weekend in March 2012. This is a large, generic hotel. It is on the Riverwalk, but on an isolated, quiet section so that you have a walk to the restaurants, etc. It is close to Rivercenter Mall if you want that. Weekend breakfast is pricey, close to $20. One morning we walked to Zuni Grille on the riverwalk for a great breakfast at a slightly lower price. The other morning was Denny's: only 5 min away and a lot cheaper. Small outdoor pool, lobby, etc. Expensive parking. Our view was the roof of the parking garage. This place is all about having a name brand hotel on the river. Don't expect much else.

Room Tip: Request river view and balcony.

I stay in Marriott hotels 90% of the time and while this property was okay it didn't WOW me in any way. I expected it to be slightly more appealing, laid out differently and offer more WOW for the category of hotel that it is. The staff was courteous but not overly so. The standard rooms were clean but not excellent (somewhat small). The best part of my stay was the view of the river from my balcony. That's worth bonus points.

I'm staying in this hotel for three days this week on a business trip. I would definitely classify this hotel as "tourist class" and not business class. The hotel itself is ok, clean and fairly up to date. It is full of tourists for spring break. My biggest complaint would be the thin walls and windows. I am on the 21st floor and can hear people yelling on the sidewalk below. I can hear every car that drives by, cars on the highway a quarter mile away and the wind is whistling so loudly through the cracks around the window that you would think a hurricane is coming through. The windows in this Orel need to be replaced and updated.

I stay at Marriott properties quite often and this one was definitely among the best. I had a quite room at the end of the hall with a great view of the riverwalk. The staff were very helpful and responded immediately to my requests. I was here for a week and also took part in numerous meals prepared by the event staff, everything was exceptional, especially the level of service. Previous stays at other properties didn't have nearly the level of service as I experienced here. For instance, bathrooms in the main convention area were meticulously maintained, the best I've ever experienced for a facility similar to this.

They had new beds and updated rooms however the bathrooms clearly are in need of updates.

Also the location is right on the river walk.

Overall I can't say enough about my satisfaction.

Room Tip: Stay away from rooms next to elevators - very noisy!
