I stayed at this hotel over Christmas week & I would recommend it to anyone. The staff greeted me by name every day. My Christnas dinner was delicious (and plentiful), rivaling the steaks served at Bohanon's two nights later (& just around the corner), & my beautuful, & comfortable four-poster bed was difficult to part with.
This hotel was a few blocks from the Alamo & an easy walk to everything, including the Riverwalk. I did not need to rent a car.
If you want as private a vacation in a bustling area, this hotel was perfect. And it was decorated lavishly for the holidays, so much so that my family, who stayed at the Westin on the same street, took their holiday photos in Peacock Alley.
Truly my favorite hotel experience since the General Walker in Austria. Highly recommended.
