“Not ADA compliant! Not wheelchair accessible.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013 via mobile

The service at this hotel was horrible. They messed up our reservation and did not have us in connecting rooms. One of our rooms only had one bed for 4 people and they refused to do anything about it. They were booked and said they could not get us another room until our last night. Half our party had to move to a different hotel because the bathrooms in the handicap room do not meet basic ADA requirements. They refused to refund our room so we had to stay while half our party stayed 8 miles away in a different hotel. The staff also refused to refund the handicap room and could only refer us to the manager. It seemed the staff could not do anything unless the computer told them. The staff also advised us their shuttle can was wheelchair accessible. It was not. Thus we had to pay $18 for parking at sea world. I would suggest the manager empower his staff to meet the needs of the customer, as well as review basic ADA requirements to ensure his hotel is up to regulations for accessibility.

We just got back from this hotel five days ago. We took our grandchildren there to go to SeaWorld. We chose it because of previous reviews, price and the eye-catching photos on their web site. We were NOT disappointed. The place looked just as expected. Our granddaughters (ages 9 and 12) were so excited about the "tropical" look to the lobby. We had a studio room, 1 Queen bed and a pull-out sofa). No complaints here. The room was perfect. It was super clean and safe. The staff was very friendly and courteous and went way above to make our stay great. One staff member hand wrote out all the pizza places and their numbers that would deliver to the hotel. She did not have to go to that much trouble. We asked how to get around town and the desk clerk printed us a copy from the computer with a map to get us around. They did not have to do that. The free shuttle to SeaWorld sure made our day better, no, much better. We were finished for the day at SeaWorld and called for a shuttle and it was there within five minutes. How much more service can you want? The pool was super clean and well maintained. We spent many hours out there. The breakfast was very good. There was plenty of it. Lots of choices and very filling. The staff in the breakfast area was very kind. We would highly recommend this hotel if you are in the area. No complaints here. We loved it and it helped make beautiful memories with our grandkids. Check it out, don't overlook this one.

Room Tip: The pull out sofa sleeper was big enough and comfy enough for the grandkids. It even added to the s...

The only real benefit here is that the staff was wonderful. They were above average. Every staff member was very nice and accommodating. The only exception was a woman who seemed to be a manager of some type. She clearly did not have the time to speak to guests. Cleanliness was average, at least. We did not have any issues with that. If breakfast is important, this is not the place for you. The breakfast area is very small, and was completely packed with people during most of breakfast hours, and they ran out of several items on the weekend mornings. The food is obviously frozen, warmed up and just there to say that they offer breakfast. Breakfast was terrible, in fact, it was the worst food that I have ever eaten at any motel! I would recommend staying in a hotel downtown. Even if you go to Seaworld for two days (which would be a stretch), it is worth the drive to stay downtown. You will spend much more time downtown, regardless of the age of your kids. San Antonio is a fantastic city to visit!

Our girl scout troop reserved three rooms here during a weekend trip to Sea World San Antonio.
The staff were really friendly, ensuring we had rooms in close proximity. The shuttle service to the park was worth the hotel price hands down. The driver was AWESOME - he got to us through throngs of traffic to pick us up after our day @ the park with cool a/c on and cold drinks ready for us. This was such a convenience and saved a ton of money & walking! The hotel rooms were updated, clean & beds were very comfortable. The pool isn't huge but is laid out nicely and the hot tub was working well. Breakfast was okay, everyone found something. For $99 two queens and the shuttle, breakfast in the morning, the troop saved some money & we all had a great stay.

I came to San Antonio for my meeting last 2 weeks and stayed in this hotel for a week. Overall the room looks good and clean. They have microwave and refrigerator in the room, which is pros. The hot breakfast is ok.

One thing that i would like to complain is on the day I checked out. They sent me an extra charge for the movie and beverage about $30 which i did not use it at all. First, they told me that they cannot waive this extra charge and asked me to pay for it. But I insisted that I did not buy their movie or any beverages at all. They said that they always double check with guest last name and room number every time before put it in an account. This is so impossible because I am an international student and my last name is so unique. I was upset. It was not much money but their answer was so unreasonable.

However, at the end they waived me that extra charge after about 20 minutes of argument. So be careful with the billing that they give you!!!!!!

Stayed one night last week and was pleased with the King suite. Very clean and quiet even being across from the elevator and ice machine. Didn't use the shuttle as other reviewers have, simply walked to Rudy's BBQ as I was going to be drinking beer and it wasn't far.

Room Tip: Upper floor.

I'm a loyal Marriott customer because I personally find their brands to be consistent from market to market, well kept, confortable and reasonably priced. Our family aren't travel snobs, but we just don't do travel lodges or Motel 6 no matter how inexpensive they are.

This Fairfield seemed reasonably new, or at least recently renovated with modern rooms. I like Fairfield for family trips because the rooms have coffee stations, microwaves and refrigerators that make traveling with children a little easier. The complimentary breakfast is your standard fare you would expect. The pool area is very nice too with the hotel apparently recently adding some very comfortable outdoor living room furniture in the four corners of the pool area.

The best part is this hotel is located literally two miles from the front gate of SeaWorld and provides complimentary shuttle service to and from the park. No paying $20 to park at SeaWorld.

Overall, exactly what you would expect from a Marriott: reasonably priced, modern look, clean rooms, complimentary breakfast, etc. But the proximity to SeaWorld and free shuttle make it stand out.
