“New and modern hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Good service, modern and super central. The Grand Hyatt is just a short walk from the River Walk. It's new and the room was comfortable and classy. However the hotel is really big and busy. I was there with my aunt who is in her mid sixties for and when we woke up to our next door neighbor screaming at 2 AM we were not happy. If you're looking for lots of action this is the place for you.

We stayed in a club level room which of course had the perk of the club room access. The all day snacks and beverages was great, but the evening tapas and desserts were AMAZING! And the breakfast didn't disappoint us either (smoked salmon and fresh pastries)...we were so appreciative to not have to go far to feed our kids, especially since my husband was doing business and I stayed with the kids during the day. The club room manager was so kind to let my kids play on the computers and watch cartoons until the evening hours (when the business people come in and the alcohol is opened). I was very appreciative!

Came to San Antonio on a work trip for a conference at the San Antonio Conference Center. Conference was right by the the hotel. LOVED the hotel location - directly on the beautiful river walk! Tons to do - eats, drinks, people watching! The Hyatt beds are also amazingly comfortable. I stay at Hyatt anytime I can (when it's on the company). If you're not on an expense account, internet and breakfast cost extra.

Room Tip: Got an amazing deal for $110 a night through work

Very upscale Hyatt right on the Riverwalk next to the convention center. Walk to everything! The fitness center is AWESOME! Too cool for the pool when we were there, but very nice, located on the 5th floor roof.

The decor of this hotel is horrible. It looks like it was decorated by a hippie on a bad LSD trip. The 24 hour food market was great for mid-night snacks.

The price of drinks in the bar were outrageously expensive, when compared to those available on the River Walk just a few steps away.

It is close to the indoor shopping mall and a real Starbucks (across the street). The Perks Coffee stand in the hotel lobby serves Starbucks Coffee, but their specialty drinks were not as good.

The hotel is OVER PRICED for the poshness, amenities and level of service. Service was good, just not up to the price point of the rooms. And for the price, in room INTERNET WAS NOT FREE !

Room Tip: Ask for a INTERNET WI-FI CODE at check-in. Get an end of hall unit for extra peace & quiet.

This Hyatt is located right where everything San Antonio should be. Near restaurants, attractions and the River Walk. It is a nice property but needs to add a Gift Shop. The 24 hour Perks Coffee Shop was nice, too! This Hyatt has the luxury look and décor but something seems to be missing. As others have said with the cost of rooms free Wi-Fi should be included.
Décor, looks and location make it excellent but no Wi-Fi, no breakfast card to request meals and having to ask for wash cloths make it average.

Room Tip: Try to avoid far corner it is a long walk, especially for those with bad knees.

The service was absolutely outstanding from valet, front desk, bellhop and even pizza place in lobby. The rooms weren't amazing but were definitely nicer than an average hotel room. I'd go back but only if they have a special. It was very close to the convention center too so that was convenient
