“Great location, friendly staff, small but clean rooms. Beware of high $ parking.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013 via mobile

Parking is $25/night and $37/night for valet. Park directly across the street for $9/night. I got the room for $125/night from Priceline. Not bad for Spring Break weekend. Great location with easy access to Riverwalk, Alamo & the mall. The rooms are kinda small and the beds are double! Not queen-double, so beware if you like more room. We slept fine on them. Staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. I hate that they charge so much for parking. We parked across the street for $9. It says you have to be out by 8 am but you don't. You pay cash going in and nobody is there going out to check.

Good location next to Convention centre, and close to the Alamo. River walk has all the restaurants etc. only annoying issue was the sound of train horns if you have a room at the back of the hotel. Good coffee station open 24hrs in lobby with snacks and drinks.

This was our first Christmas together, so we wanted to do something special. So I booked us a trip to San Antonio. I had a room at another hotel and was truly shocked and disappointed. I did not feel it was safe for my girlfriend to be in that part of town. I looked up to the heavens for an answer and there it is was, in big letters, GRAND HYATT. I gave them a call and without any prior notice I had an OUTSTANDING room with an over the top view of the city. The staff was super friendly and willing to help you in any manner. The parking was pricey, but if you want your vehicle to remain just as safe, you will pay for the service. Plan to visit again soon.

Excellent service, great location on river and by conference center, rooms and view outstanding, and they offer exceptional discounted rates. The only time we don't stay here is when they are sold out and then we are always disappointed. This stay was like all of the others - exceptional!

My husband and I stayed here for one night to attend a funeral in the San Antonio area. We got a great price on a room through priceline. The hotel is beautiful and the staff and service were exceptional. The view from our room was non-existent since it overlooked the top of the convention center but I attribute that to having paid less for a room via priceline so that was ok. I would not have been happy if I had paid full price though. The hotel room was clean (but one of the towels did have someone's elses hair folded up inside so we just put that to the side). I do wish these higher end hotels would have sealed glasses in the room so I'm assured that they were cleaned and really washed rather than just wiped out from the previous guest. Valet service was a bit pricey at $35 especially when we always tip on top of that each time we get our car. Overall, it was a good experience and we would stay again, but only if we got another good deal on the room.

i was in san antonio for a conference. i had a great stay at this new hotel with excellent accomodations, amenities and central to everything. it is adjoining the convention center and right on the riverwalk. the cafe achiote is superb for inexpensive lunch buffet and the bar rojo is hip and fun.

This was a beautiful hotel. Valet was pricey; but worth it- such gentlemen. Sushi was great. Front desk was quick. Pool is small, but was not packed. Bell hop's were friendly and informative. River taxi picks up at the hotel!! :) Very accomdating to our needs. Only downfall- no mini fridge! Would stay here again if we return to San Antonio.

Room Tip: High floor- excellent view!! :)
