“Nicest of the three B & Bs we stayed at in Texas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

Beautiful house very sympathetically restored and modernised. Spacious rooms, many with sitting areas including tea and coffee facilities, toiletries, microwave and fridge. Excellent breakfast with choices available, which we didn't find elsewhere. Service was also very friendly and of a high standard. The location is also a bonus as a great neighborhood with several good quality restaurants you can actually walk to. Only criticism is that there is a notice on the door asking you to phone when you arrive to gain access - on holiday in the USA many foreign visitors though do not have a mobile phone! However, this is being taken on board and the owners are proposing to change this. A stay here is highly recommended - you won't be disappointed and San Antonio is a lovely and interesting city to visit.

We loved our stay at O'Caseys!! The heritage house is really lovely and very homely. We stayed in the Clare Cottage at the back of the main home. It was lovely and very comfortable. It has a neat little kitchenette and a roomy bathroom. There are four of us in our group and it slept us all very comfortably, with plenty of room and comfy beds...and lovely soft linens too! Weve been travelling around in an old RV so the stay was extra lovely for us. A real treat! The cottage and the rest if the house is really well decorated and furnished. The location is great too. Really close to downtown and the river walk. Breaky was amazing!!! Heaps of options and a different and delicious cooked meal every morning. And they stocked Vegemite!!...so us Aussies were happy!!! Madonna, the host, is a legend! A fellow Aussie!!! Full of helpful information about the area and some great stories. We also met her lovely neighbour. Great southern hospitality all round. Wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely stay again.

We stayed for two nights at O'Casey's and had a great time. The house is in a quiet historic district close to downtown, is full of character, and very well maintained. The B&B's grounds are very inviting with an grill and large sitting area and, during a cooler time of the year, would be my first choice as a place to relax and spend an evening. Madonna, the owner, is very friendly and quick to respond to her guests' needs. Hannah, very friendly also, prepared and served our wonderful breakfasts. We found two great restaurants within two blocks of O'Casey's.

Staying at O'Casey's was the highlight of our family vacation to San Antonio. We fell in love with the privacy and comfort of the rooms. We were surprised at how quiet the rooms were even thought there was a full house. The outdoor courtyard and inside sitting room allowed the entire family to enjoy family time with a cookout or roasting marshmallows. Modonna and the entire staff at O'Casey's where great hostess and made everyone feel at home. This was my first experience staying at a B&B, if others live up to the standards set by O'Casey's I would highly recommend it over a chain hotel.

Okay, so, you can't not love Madonna. And you can't not love the house. It is old and historic, and it is awesome. All that, and she makes you breakfast. Not the motel kind where you pour the waffle batter into the machine and wait your turn kind of breakfast--she actually gets up and makes you breakfast--EVERY MORNING. Granted, I have some picky kids who are used to plain this and that, but she has cereal for those kids, and your good ol' toast and jelly to fall back on. Anyway, it was so nice to sleep somewhere on a real bed rather than a mattress that has a fake headboard screwed to the wall. To make it even better, there is a courtyard for you to relax in and chat with the other guests or with the ones in your party. It is quiet and out of the way, but only about 2 minutes from the freeway. You are not far from anything. For her ridiculously low price, you cannot beat it. If you want to whine about luxury and your need for it, then you can feel free to stay somewhere that will charge you $300 a night for it. But, if you want comfort and courtesy, stay at O'Caseys!

The proprietor's friendliness set the tone for a wonderful two day visit. I've stayed at enough hotels in the past to rack up platinum status at two different hotel chains. However, this trip was to be different, and it certainly proved to be better than I could have expected. The rooms were deceptively roomier than I expected. The hospitality was a simmering warmth, not over the top and not mediocre.

However, the most memorable for the trip was the breakfast! Yes, this is indeed a bed and breakfast that does the best breakfast I've seen in years. The variety of items to choose from was great, and the quality of the food was outstanding.

Room Tip: Some rooms have multiple beds for those who have children with them. It is a family friendly B&B

My wife and I stayed for a long weekend at O'Casey's Bed and Breakfast in the Clare Cottage. The room was very pleasant, the surrounding neighborhoods were enjoyable to explore, and the hosts were delightful. Breakfast each morning was DELICIOUS! Being just a few minutes from downtown, we would recommend a stay here to anyone wanting to visit San Antonio.
