“Best BBQ in town!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2012

This place won't let you down. Adorable atmosphere, great BBQ and reasonable prices. The BBQ sauce is just right. Not too sweet, not too much vinegar. The beans are wonderful and the cole slaw is perfect.

“Great BBQ”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2012

Food is good here. Great barbecue. Lean meats. The place could be spruced up and cleaned a bit. Walls soiled badly which may be Texas barbecue tradition but I find it unpleasant.

“Very good BBQ at a very fair price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2012

Don't let the down'n'out look of this place turn you away, once you are greeted by the friendly staff and moreover, the great smoky BBQ scent, you will quickly overlook the casualness of the plastic utensils and serving plates. We did the family meal for our group of seven. With drinks all under $60! Sadly they were out of their pork ribs (I'm told you have to get there well before 6pm), but their alternatives: the beef brisket and the turkey were just as tender and delicious! Although the BBQ sauce on the table was a little too watery for our liking, it was just enough tang and flavour to add to the basic(but fresh) beans and was a simple compliment to the meat. The coleslaw and potato salads were your basic sort, but still good. We would definitely return for more!

“Great location for BBQ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2012

Converted Gas station that serves great BBQ. Service is busy at lunch time and make your selection before you get to the front of the line. It can be really busy.

Great selection of meats-Brisket, turkey, sausage, chicken, ribs, etc. Select a combo to try more than one.

Brisket and turkey are very tender and full of flavor. Wide selection of sides.

Well worth the trip. Will be back on next trip.

“Good BBQ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2012

Visited with some locals on a business trip to San Antonio. Like the other reviews, this is a quaint BBQ joint. Good value for quality and quantity of BBQ. I had the brisket and sausage combo - both good flavor and not dried out. Obviously they do a volume business because the meat was not sitting around. The place itself is a "no frills" dining experience - smoky dining room, BBQ placed on paper on a plastic tray, plastic cutlery, counter service, bottled beer - but that is what you should expect. Sauce on the table was average. Overall while this is not knock your socks off with piles of meat and many choices of sauce, it was above average for a neighborhood joint. Meal with a beer was about $10.
