“Stay away!!!!!”

This used to be a good place but now the building is dirty. The utensils, cups, plates are all dirty. Stay away or risk getting sick!!! Stay Away!!!!

“Hung Fong experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2013

We there for lunch. The cuisine pretty much caters to the American palette, it does however seem to have a good following. Most of the lunch diners that day seem to be return customers, the servers seem to know them by either name or face.
The server we had was genuinely concerned that my wife and I had a great experience. Hope this helps.

“A San Antonio Tradition”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

This is one of the real treats if you are a fan of Chinese cuisine. We tend to go every few weeks. There is nothing particularly memorable with the decor, but the food certainly overrides any of that. We tend to try several items and share. The soups are a great way to start. We will munch on fried wontons with our soup. The special combinations are plenty for most appetites, but again part of the fun is sharing. This restaurant has been around for decades for a reason.

“stumbled on this gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

I've traveled to San Antonio many times and always go for Mexican. I was running out of gas and stumbled on the "oldest" Chinese restaurant in the city? Who cares, it was great. I had a seafood combo on a sizzler platter. It said lobster and it actually had lobster plus shrimp and scallops. Wonderful. With an ice cold mug for my Tsing Tao, excellent restaurant.

“Go down the street instead”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

This historic restaurant used to be good but has gone down hill over the years. Crappy food, bad service. Go to the nice restaurant down the street instead. Can't remember the name but anything is better than Hung Fong.
