We went to Zinc while in town on business. It was near our hotel and only steps from the upper level of the Riverwalk. It is a sister restaurant to Boudro's and we mainly went for the tableside guacamole and prickly pear margaritas. The guac was amazing although the portion was rather small for two people and the generous serving of chips. The margarita was good but interesting with salt and chili powder (I think) on the rim. The shrimp churrascos and pizza were really good and the atmosphere in the courtyard was romantic and very French/Spanish like New Orleans. The service was friendly but a bit slow. We decided that is the norm near the Riverwalk, even when the restaurant isn't busy. Maybe they are trying to get us used to the more relaxed culture which is not a bad thing if you aren't on a schedule. The waiter misunderstood one of the orders but replaced it without hesitation. Overall, eating here is an enjoyable experience and a nice break after a couple of days of very busy Riverwalk life.
