“Fabulous Al Fresco Dining on the Riverwalk!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2011

On our last morning in San Antonio, we decided to follow the great reviews to Las Canarias for breakfast. Being that it was Monday. July 4th, we expected to dine off the regular menu and were pleasantly surprised that they had their brunch buffet available.

When we arrived we were seated on the patio facing the riverwalk. It was a beautiful little spot made even nicer by the fact that it was elevated just a bit and out of the way of all the passersby! Our server was very attentive and explained everything that the buffet included. My husband inquired about the Huevos Rancheros and our server went above and beyond by placing an order for my husband. So he was able to experience the dish he was craving, alongside the buffet for the same price. It was a win-win!

The buffet included loads of fresh fruit, blueberry sausage (which was super yum), chilaquiles, omelet station, etc. It was a great variety and was refilled regularly so you were never left with the bottom of the barrel.

The service, selection, ambeience, and value was well worth the trip! Would definitely try their dinner menu on our next trip to San Antonio.

“Desert was terrific -but watch out for the wine scam!!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2011

We ate there last week and my wife had accepted the waiters wine "by the glass" recommendation before my arrival.
We ordered food and the desert was an outstanding pink pepper, chocolate ice-cream.
During the meal two more glasses of wine were served from a small carafe and all was well until the bill arrived and we paid $48 for the three glasses of Chardonnay ( much more than most of the bottles on the wine list)
Interestingly the waiter at the restaurant we chose for the next night, when told of our experience, identified the restaurant in one.

Jose and staff are the best, Jose recommended an special tasting for our friends from out of USA to give them a taste of San Antonio, and to celebrate our reunion. The evening was spectacular 5 star dinner, staff was great and very attentive, food was simply outstanding and the atmosphere was all we could wished for.

“Great breakfast buffet with attentive service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2011

We just happen to stumble across this restaurant during a recent visit on the River Walk. My husband asked to see the menu and suggested we stop to eat breakfast. I must admit, he picked a good one. The buffet had lots of choices, which included Belgian waffles, sausage, bacon, eggs with cheese and tortillas, omelets, yogurts, fruits, etc. The staff were extremely attentive and kept the buffet well stocked. Nice ambiance, too. It was a great way to take a break from tourist activities. You can also eat outside with a nice view of the river. We plan to return the next time we're in town.

“Good Brunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2011

This brunch is a good option for a Sunday morning
where you want food that is well done and visible
enough to know how well prepared it is. I recommend
this brunch for anyone looking for a healthy meal all
the way to a full course meal. The food is warm and
the variety is sufficient. The omelette is made for you
with almost any ingredient you would want. Although
I am not a meat lover, the prime rib looked good.
