“Excellent breakfast items in a unique setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

This restaurnt is in the home of the Guenther family which moved from Germany to San Antonio and opened flour mills. The house is still next to one of the mills and across the street from a river walk in to the town center. It is about a mile from downtown and if you choose to walk you can go along the river or walk along King William st. to view many historic homes and mansions of the 19th century.(King William will lead you directly to the House and mill).. The breakfast items are astoundingly good and reasonablly priced (weekends get crowded). Try the special house coffee and ask about the daily breakfast special. Highly recommended!

“Nice place to eat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2013

We came for lunch here and the wait was over a hour, so we ordered carry out and ate on a table they had outside the house. Worked out very well and saved us so much time. Food was very good. Waffle was probably my favorite.

“Great place Great Neighborhood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

This is an old flour company and the restaurant is in the family house. This King William District is fabulous the houses in this neighborhood are really beautiful and the neighborhood is great to walk in. Guenther House has a pretty great menu for breakfast great pancakes and they do pastries too. Go early it fills up fast! Great little gift/kitchen store inside house. A must do!

“Best breakfast on the Riverwalk”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

The Guenther House offers a great selection of items for breakfast. The biscuits are so moist and fluffy. It is located along a quite section of the river. If the weather permits, eat outside. The patio area is so peaceful and the landscape is beautiful. Get there early on weekends to avoid having to wait. But if you do have to wait at least you can take in all the beauty this stretch of the river has to offer. Enjoy!!

“Beautiful home/restaurant - excellent food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

This lovely home is now a restaurant as well as the former residence of the man who started Pioneer Flour Mills. The home and mill have been turned over to the city of San Antonio and the home is open for touring at no charge. The restaurant was beautiful with stained glass windows. The food was excellent. We enjoyed the daily special of meat loaf, mashed potatoes and gravy with a salad. The raspberry chipotle dressing was wickedly delicious! What a pleasant excursion.
