We ate at the Guenther House for lunch one day while traveling in San Antonio. The house is situated high off the river with views of the historic home & lawn, but not the river itself. We dined outside under the pergola & enjoyed the shade & gentle breeze while watching the one lone duck that had made it onto the property try to scrounge around for scraps & crumbs from dining guests. The service was quick & efficient, the food was very tasty & an excellent value for the money. To start the meal off, they brought out fresh biscuits & butter - the biscuits tasted like they were made from scratch - tender & flaky! They serve breakfast all day, but we opted for some deli sandwiches, which came out on fresh buns & tasted delicious! We were too full for dessert, but it looked delicious when we glanced at some of the remaining pie slices in the bakery case.
