As someone who travels at least twenty weeks of the year, I am in many hotels in many places, but my favorite is the Mokara in San Antonio. This small boutique hotel in the middle of downtown San Antonio is an oasis in the middle of the hustle and bustle outside. From the minute that you walk in, there is a feeling of peace and quiet and the staff never fail to exceed my expectations.
On a recent trip, Hannah Hagan, one of the front office managers went well above and beyond, to take care of temporary construction related noise in the street below. They always remember my name when I arrive back at the hotel and could not be more professional and helpful. This is what great service looks like.
With rooms that exude tranquility, a great gym and pool on the roof, this is the place to stay in San Antonio.

We live in far Northwest San Antonio and often do not take advantage of the Downtown area as we won't drink and drive. So, not able to get away for my wife's birthday due to hosting for Thanksgiving, we decided to have a small staycation in our home town.

We were enticed into booking the Mokara on a third night free promotion and we were a little nervous that we might get an "off" room due to the discount. We were pleasantly pleased with the huge room with gorgeous river view and gigantic bath with large Jacuzzi/ garden tub.

Very late nights made for lazy mornings and room service was prompt with the Bloody Mary's (very tasty!) and breakfast.

The staff was quite helpful and we received an email from the concierge prior to arrival welcoming us and asking if we had needs and/ or were we in for an occasion. They had great suggestions for our Birthday weekend.

An excellent hotel which we would recommend highly!

Friendly staff, beautiful location on the River walk, & large, clean rooms. We stayed for 4 nights and were very happy with our room and the attention we received from the staff. The location on the river walk is fantastic! The Alamo, shopping and dining are all very close by. We didn't have time to try the spa but it looked beautiful and smelled great.

Checked in for a business ess trip without any idea it was the top rated San Antonio hotel and wasn't disappointed, rooms remind me of luxury British hotels, a feeling of quality and style without being flash. Stylish and lovely rooms and amazing bathrooms, seafood restaurant is also amazing - I spend many nights in hotels and this is the best for me this year and in fact for quite some time - would pitch it against the best, simply superb service and surroundings, stay here if you can.
