“Nice area for concerts”

Saw Circa Survive here. Loved the outside pavilion, had lots of beer stations for fast service and was all and all a good experience!

“Not worth the trouble”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

Parking is expensive and sometimes difficult to find. Many Freight and Amtrak trains cross on the multiple RR tracks at Commerce street often blocking pedestrians and vehicle traffic at all hours of the day and night. Sunset station is conveniently nestled between downtown and the edge of the East side which is historically known as a crime riddled area of the city. Watch your vehicle and valuables! The security company (GPS) and it's officers responsible for the property are unarmed, insufficiently trained and incapable of being more than a physical deterrent...better hope a police officer is nearby if something goes wrong! Surprisingly, GPS Security is under the umbrella of HB Zachry, so you would think the quality of officer, the training and leadership would be better. Lastly, the nearest reasonably priced, non tourist place to eat is an overcrowded Denny's several blocks down Commerce street. But to get there you have to first get past the vagrants, panhandlers and criminal element of the area. I avoid Sunset Station whenever possible and suggest you do the same.
