Loved this hotel and the wonderful staff! They went out of their way to make our stay wonderful! Great breakfast and a nice wine happy hour includedI almost didn't book when I read the reviews that mentioned the noise, but the windows are nicely sealed and there is a noise machine in the room. And if you leave the ceiling fan run, you will eliminate 90% of the problem. Our room was on the 3rd floor, so I don't know about the noise situation on the 2nd floor. This was way better than staying in a boring, ordinary hotel room! There is access to a nearby health club, but we didn't have time to try it...

Room Tip: 3rd floor rooms are probably quieter...

Loved this hotel! Rooms are lovely, spacious and we were treated to a view of the riverwalk! Breakfasts are FAB and loved the freshly baked cakes! We were treated to a couple of beauties over the 2 nights we stayed. All the staff were super friendly and made us feel really at-home. I didnt want to leave :)

Comes complete with Teddy Bear, relaxing leather chair, wood floors, voluminous closet, dressing area and shower. Beautiful. Innkeeper Patti is kind and wondrous. Ask and she delivers in her awesome honey toned voice. She loves this city and wants you to love it too.

My wife and I attended a meeting January 18-19 at the Henry B Gonzalez Convention center. We wanted a hotel within walking distance of the convention center, the Alamo and the River Walk. From the hotel, the convention center is about 200 yards while the River Walk is on one side and the street leading to the Alamo Plaza on the other side. The entrance door is locked. We either entered by being buzzed in or entering a pass code. The hotel is on the top two floors. Guests can take an elevator or wide stairs leading up.

The hotel has only 17 rooms some of which are very large. The building is designated as historical but we were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the bed, bathrooms, towels, robes, leather chairs and more. There is a large room where cold and hot breakfast menu items are served. Upon arriving late the first night, we were pleasantly surprised when offered cookies and a glass of wine. That was an unexpected treat.

Be forewarned that this hotel is right in the middle of the all the river walk / Alamo / Convention Center activity. There are a lot of happy and excited people who stay up late and take advantage of all the area has to offer. If you are a light sleeper, I suggest carrying with you some inexpensive foam earplugs. We always carry them with us when traveling and used them to get a good nights rest at the River Walk Vista. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Staying at a small boutique hotel like this has it’s risks and rewards. We found this experience nothing but rewarding.

My husband and I loved staying at the Riverwalk Vista. The location could not have been better for easy access to the Riverwalk, Alamo and other "touristy" type things in the area. Even my husband who does't really care where we stay when travelling kept commenting on what a "cool" building we were staying in and how he would love to come back ans stay at the Riverwalk. Our room was so charming with the huge windows, exposed brick and beautiful hardword floors. Breakfast was great (loved the cranbeerry white chocolate scones!), there were treats in the afternoon as well as water, coffee, ect. When we checked in the innkeeper Katherine gave us some restaurant suggestions that were turned out great as well. I do wish we would have got more suggestions from her on other restaurants or things to do in the evening, but maybe next time! As for the street noise it did not bother us a bit....what little bit I did notice. I usually bring ear plugs when traveling anyways b/c my husbands snoring is way worse than anykind of noise outside. I also loved the old music in the common areas.
