Overall we had a great stay at the hotel. It's beautiful and their restaurant has great food. Our room service breakfast was cooked perfectly and made it to us hot which is impressive since often it's warm when it reaches the room. The location is very convenient as it's on the riverwalk and just a quick walk to the Alamo. The hotel is also close to some cute shops plus numerous visitor shops with tons of souvenirs if you are into those. It's on historic Houston St. Which also has additional fine dining choices. Unfortunately, we looked forward to experiencing a drink in their courtyard with fireplace but both times we went to take advantage of it, it was closed for private events. It would have been nice to have known about the closings at check-in so we could schedule around it. The valet staff, housekeeping, & room service were all extremely pleasant, polite, & efficient. The front desk staff could learn from them. Not only was our check-in done in a fairly curt manor, when my husband called down with inquiries, he was hung up on before he was finished, when our tv remote disappeared during housekeeping the front desk said one would be sent up but we had to call again 20 min later & she wasn't aware of our situation. Really almost all of our interactions with the front desk were not excellent customer service as everything else in the hotel was.
