The Hotel overlooked the Riverwalk and convenient to the Riverwalk entrance but being a block or two from the entrance made for a quieter stay.
We had several people staying at the hotel allowing us to make a review on multiple rooms. The beds were heavenly in the King and Queen rooms but not so much in the standard two queen rooms. My husband and I stayed in the Executive Suite which was very nice and offered a queen connecting room in which my son and friend stayed. Very large bathroom, jetted heart shaped tub, granite counters, large standup shower with three shower heads. The hotel offered complimentary water and pretzels daily and a complimentary breakfast with bagels, muffins, fruit and juices. The service was exemplary and staff was friendly and helpful. Parking at this facility was much more reasonable than other hotels in the area. Overall a wonderful experience. I will stay there again when visiting San Antonio.

I am a member of the Australian Defence Force and chose to stay at the Riverwalk Plaza after reading several reviews, especially one written by a retired member of the US Navy.

I travel extensively throughout the Middle East and Europe in my current assignment and stay at mostly 5 Star and above hotels.

The Riverview Plaza Hotel is not a 5 Star Hotel, however the level of service provided, location and appointment of the rooms were very good. The room rate included free in room internet access and a light breakfast. Parking was at a additional cost of $12 per day, however the rate is much cheaper than the larger hotels and about the same if not cheaper than trying to park in Parking Stations in Downtown San Antonio.

The hotel is within walking distance to all major tourist attractions and places to eat in Downtown San Antonio (Alamo, Hardrock etc).

Lastly and very important to me was the fact the Staff were always friendly and willing to assist if required. Nothing seemed to be to much trouble to them.

I would definitely stay at the Riverview Plaza again if I was to return to San Antonio for leisure or work and I would recommend it to anyone considering visiting San Antonio.

This may have been a nice hotel once, but it is on its way to being a Motel 6. The rooms are shabby and the front desk staff not terribly helpful. Even though the name says Riverwalk, you have to go out the back door and across the street to get to the Riverwalk and then walk quite a ways to get to the restaurants and shops. It was overpriced for what we got. We were there during Fiesta, which I am sure caused the prices to be higher. The restaurant in the hotel is closed. Breakfast (included) was purely continental - nothing special.

I choose this hotel based on price 117 and previous reviews. I reserved a suite with two queen beds and a queen sofa sleeper. Accommodations for six people plus a balcony with river view. I double checked our reservations before leaving home. When arriving they told me I didn't have a booking. I asked to speak to Micheal who I booked with and gave my confirmation number. He ARGUED I booked a regular room with a king bed and no view. (Again for six people) During my time at the front desk a man came down and said people were in the first room he was given and his second room was still dirty (at 5pm). We were given a fold out bed and two double beds when I tried to book another room they said the 6th person could sleep on the floor since there wasn't room for a second trundle bed! Then the next morning on the way to the muffin and danish only breakfast, folks got stuck in the elevator which shut the other down. This was the final straw we checked out! Final price for the room was fifty more than I would've paid for the suite that I never saw! I've lived in 3rd world countries and traveled worldwide. This is the first time I have ever felt it necessary to write a bad review!
