“Never again!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013

Would not ever stay at this hotel. Very unclean. Nasty bed sheets, filthy carpet, dirty microwave, counters not cleaned. What happened to this place and why doesn't management do something? I would recommend looking for accommodation elsewhere; it's certainly not the money at this hotel.

Room Tip: You probably won't find a good room at this place.

Fridge dirty, microwave dirty, they do not clean sheets, carpet is disgusting, To say it is a dump, does not justify description. My spouse and I are in our 60's and have stayed at expensive, luxury, budget, inexpensive, and every type of lodging. This is beyond horrible. The sink and bathtubs are broken, dirty, curtains and rods broken, drawers and shelves broken, no view, This place does NOT need a makeover, it needs to be bulldozed. Naseous, disgusting, smelly, dirty, unkept, pathetic, revolting, Absolutley not one single redeeming quality other that cheap rates.

I checked into this dump a few nights ago, as it was late and i am a woman travelling on my own i was forced to stay the night, the next morning i checked out and moved somewhere else. This hotel is dirty, unsafe area, quite a way from Downtown/Market Square. Falsely advertised. Pictures are from another Knights Inn as i found out from my new hotel. My door was open on arrival. lights not working in bathroom. Dirty bedding. Pillows untouchable. Just grim. Waiting on a refund which i probably wont get. I would not leave my dog in that hotel. Filthy dump. I wish i had taken pictures. Mirror across bed looked like a 2 way mirror. I could rant all day, Dont book this.

The professional photos are a lie! Disgusting, disgusting, disgusting. Did I say disgusting? This place is an absolute dump. It's listed as downtown San Antonio but more like a thirty minute walk from. The area is a bit run down so best not to walk it after dark.
The hotel could do with a serious makeover. The entrance is ragged, the lobby and lifts could do with a clean up. I'm not sure if there is regular housekeeping service or not. The room was filthy. Thank goodness I packed cleaning wipes. Stains of a questionable sort everywhere. The telephone was filthy not that I would have used it but I always check these things out. The coffee pot should just go in the dump since no one can be bothered to clean it. There were stains all over the counters and carpet.
The bathroom was also dirty with unclean walls, hairs in the tub and sink. Bring your own towels as these are tatty and brown. Looks like whatever was broken never got fixed including a cabinet beneath the counter, the security latch on the door and a drawer over the bay window. There was only one trouser hanger in the closet and surprisingly an iron.
Judging by the looks of this room I am certain the rest of the rooms look as bad. Apparently management doesn't give a damn and I don't give a damn about leaving this really bad review. This hotel is located near a bridge one would probably do better sleeping the night under :-(.

Looks can be decieving.......We stayed one night after a flight in to San Antonio. We chose this hotel by mistake, thinking that it was the Knights Inn by the Alamo, but after booking it, we realized it was the wrong one. We looked on it's website and by the pictures, it looked like it would be an okay hotel for the night. We realized that the pictures were quite outdated. If you are looking for a place to be pampered or even a place that is new (in any way), this is not it! For the price, you can't beat it, but you have to ignore quite a few things that are greatly lacking in a hotel: The sheets were clean, however, there were old stains (very faint, rusty coloured) and there were cigarette burns in them. The bed is one that is as old as the hotel - lumpy and badly in need of replacement. Above the bed, there was a light missing with wiring hanging out in the open gap. The tv worked but you had to hold the back of the remote control because the battery cover kept falling off. The fridge was loud, obviously on it's last legs. Although the air conditioning was loud, it was effective. The pool area was much smaller than what it looks like on the internet and everything was broken. The rugs and tiling in the room and hallways throughout the hotel were in bad need of replacement . EVERYTHING needs to be replaced! I feel bad for the employees because I am sure they have endless complaints from people, but, for what the hotel lacks, the staff does make up for it. They were very friendly and helpful. It's not in the greatest part of the centre area of San Antonio but close enough that it is a short drive to where you want to go. I would not feel comfortable walking from the hotel to the market area, so, take a car!! Will we stay there again? NO!! Was it okay for the night? Yes - for $40.00 a night, it was just fine - and it was very quiet. By the way, breakfast meant toast or cereal - not too much choice. McDonald's filled the void.

Room Tip: There isn't one. I'm sure all the rooms were are horrible as ours.....

I've stayed in a few roadside motels during my stay in the US and they've all been a little shabby but perfectly acceptable for the price. This on the other hand, is just dire. We had to wait a while to get our key because the receptionist had to deal with a guest who was given a key to a room that was already occupied, so he basically walked in on people who were in there - a little unnerving. The whole place was really run down and stank - especially in the elevator and hallway - mainly of cigarettes. Our room also stunk of smoke even though it was apparently a non-smoking room. The desk didn't have drawers in it, there were holes in the ceiling, the sink was blocked, there were cigarette burns absolutely everywhere including the bedding which smelt so bad we ended up spraying perfume on everything in order to sleep. The walls were thin and we were kept awake by loud TVs and people running about and shouting all night. In the morning, there were bags of dirty nappies and other rubbish in the hallway. Thank god we only had to stay there one night!!

Not really a good experience:
Creepy guys in the hotel, unfriendly staff. They deactivate your keys the morning at 9:30 even if the check out is at 11am...
You should better go to the Travelodge or Super 8 !
Don't go there and give them money for such a bad service...
