We went to Waxy's as a last resort because every other restaurant on the riverwalk had a long wait and we were starving. We were seated right away, and our waiter was great, probably the best waiter we had the entire time we were in San Antonio. He was an older guy and I wish I could remember his name, because I would love to call the manager and tell him what an asset this waiter is to his restaurant. My son and daughter enjoyed playing darts and I had a few beers and listened to the live music. The only disappointment was the food. My son and I ordered fish and chips and it was just terrible. I've had real fish and chips in England and I guess I was expecting something similar, but the fish was small, looked burnt, and had no taste at all. My wife ordered stew and potatoes and said it was ok, but nothing special. I guess like every other theme restaurant, there are some good things and bad things, but we would probably go there again, just because of the service and environment.
